Re the 3rd.. it doesn’t matter what the defence do. He can’t come if he isn’t going to get there. He wasn’t close. It’s a clear keeper error jammy. And he’d most likely have come for the fourth if he hadn’t had a rush of blood for the third. Hey that’s football. It didn’t cost us today.
yep understood the observation I was agreeing with you! we’re judging these lot by their own high standards. We’re the best side in the league, today we needed to score 4 goals from our 5 shots on target and needed an own goal to win. With our usual ratio in front of goal we’d have lost 4-1 and the suicide squad would really be out in force.
There's no doubt that between them, Kiko & the defence made a hash of the goals. However, if the defending had started in the opposition half, as we've been used to, then these issues might not have arisen. The back 5 were forced into making decisions that should never have been asked of them. The other thing we tend to forget is that there was another team playing today, and they did very well. It's not just our shortcomings that gave them the goals - I think they had a wee hand in it too. Look at the possession stats - must have been our worst this season.
We're most definitely enduring a sticky patch, hopefully it's just temporary and the silky, flowing football will return. Problem is, it most probably won't. It would seem the die is now cast, every game from here on in will be a white nuckle ride, to be enjoyed and endured in equal amounts.
Din't you pick out yer fair share Mr Ristac? avn't uthers picked out their fair share too Mr Ristac?. Fair play old bean, it would be jolly decent of you, and superbly English to allow an Englishman his fair bite of the cherry. Fest of all Mr Ristac, it'd be me hoo wus plaiing wit u, and you bit like wee jack frost on end of an Irishman's wee willy.................even tho oi'l be standing by what oi sed. English accent now, lol, I also went on to say the football was dire and no one played brilliantly. Ristac, I understand you're obsessed with Phillips, but, even in a game like against Brum where he went missing, played crap (just like others) was a nomad, where his corners and free kicks were diabolical, and where his passing couldn't hit 2 double decker buses at 10 yards, you still defend him. Serious question though, Wen wud Mr Phillips calm be cummin inter play Mr Ristac, oi'm over mune wit excitement waiting fer it ter appen, du yer tink it'll be eny time sune Mr Ristac. Doo yer tink he's maybe hiding it in is pocket or sumtink Mr Ristac. An oi'l be tellin yoo this fer shor Mr Ristac, wen that Mr Phillips shares his calm wi'uthers, oi'l be grabbin Eire bi scruff o'neck an t'gether we'all be hobb nailing it over t'Shaks fridge t'be celebrating, dat we will Mr Ristac, t'be shor t'be shor..........
Overall I would say looking at his last ten games Phillips performances have dropped, compared to his overall performance rating so far for the season of 7.3, there are exceptions. It's interesting that in the games with the poorest performances by Phillips we didn't do too well, coincidence? Personally I'm hoping he hasn't been approached by other teams with the transfer window opening soon.
No, what we need to do is to get Dallas out of the team. Klich needs to play, that means Tyler on for Dallas. And Douglas should never ever be near the team at all. He should actually have been arrested for impersonating a football player. Up front I want Nketiah to keep his place
I’m not obsessed with him in the slightest, I just recognise the important part he plays along with others. I only seem to mention his name when replying to you. I mentioned our worst performers, I didn’t mention the other 8 as they were all below average which is a bit mean of me when you consider we won 5-4. You’re far more obsessed with him than I am but sadly in a vindictive manner, you asked me directly is Phillips like a fish out of water I said no. He wasn’t at his best but then I didn’t feel the others were either. If defending him yesterday was me replying to your fish out of water direct question then yes I’m guilty, otherwise I don’t see where I defended him?
I think it’s more Dallas and Klich in front of him not working as a pair, or for the sake of fairness the trio of Phillips, Klich and Dallas are failing. Dallas isn’t a central midfielder, the little triangles are not working, opposition see how well Phillips plays as a playmaker so they’re concentrating on disrupting that area of our play.
Agree, I think the team suffers with Dallas in central midfield. Not a slight on him. He is trying his best. Hopefully Shak and Forshaw are back soon to cover that area. Forshaw is vastly underrated. He is a good footballer but his intelligence allows the team to get the best out of Klich and Phillips. Could be like a new signing if we ever get him fit this season.
Agree on Forshaw, never understood the dogs abuse he got. Sometimes guilty of slowing the tempo down a bit, and not at his best as a DM, but a very good midfielder at this level in my view. complete sicknote though
Forshaw was played as a defensive midfielder for a short while last season and it really didn’t work. This season him and Klich together were on fire at the start. I’m going to have to look up his career appearance stats now as I was going to say it’s a shame he is injury prone... Edit* Forshaw usually averages around 30 games a season, just been hit with injuries the past couple of seasons
You wouldn't!!! "I wouldn’t slate a player and refuse to see what good he did no matter how blatantly obvious it was"............but you have been doing, evidence is below, you seem to hate Kiko, and blindly don't see how you contradict yourself. Kiko was by far the worst player for us today followed by Alioski and Nketiah, Ayling was also poor. Alioski was back to his old ways, Kiko had a stinker, Nketiah was useless and I’m not bothered if he goes back I’m sure Kiko is at fault for three of their goals. Kiko part at fault for two of them FFS Kiko. We need a new keeper. Alioski back to his role on the floor for 5 minutes routine every time he loses the ball. I felt Nketiah was a bit of a passenger today, he never defended from the front when we never had the ball and he made no impact today. "Yes it sounds like I’m knocking Eddie",.............................yes, you've been knocking Eddie. "opposition see how well Phillips plays as a playmaker so they’re concentrating on disrupting that area of our play"........Really!!, our players look to Pablo and Klich as our playmakers, not Phillips, he ain't a playmaker. Forshaw is a playmaker, Phillips ain't................You need to wake up from your Phillips love dreams Ristac. "I’m not obsessed with him in the slightest, I just recognise the important part he plays along with others. I only seem to mention his name when replying to you. I mentioned our worst performers, I didn’t mention the other 8 as they were all below average which is a bit mean of me when you consider we won 5-4."............You defend him every time you reply to my remarks on him. You are always following my remarks to see what I say about him so you can reply and defend him.......that's obsession.................What important part does he play?.......he ain't our playmaker, his corners and free kicks are mostly abysmal and nothing comes of'em, he loves passing sideways and backwards to create great stats, his long passes are mostly too long or too short etc etc, so tell me what important part he plays? "You’re far more obsessed with him than I am but sadly in a vindictive manner, you asked me directly is Phillips like a fish out of water I said no. He wasn’t at his best but then I didn’t feel the others were either." .................the only time you mentioned he wasn't at his best (cos you were pressed into it) even though the last 4 games he obviously hasn't been at his best, cos you're too busy having a go at Alioski, Kiko, Nikita. Everyone didn't play up to scratch against Brum, but Phillips was lost, a nomad, didn't read game and caught out of position. Since teams have started coming at us thick and fast from off Phillips has been caught floundering cos he doesn't know what to do. You made the statement "We need Phillips, he brings calm to the defence" some others copied what you said like parrot fashion. Like I sed Mr Ristac, wen du yer tink Mr Phillips will bi bringing his calm ter our defence, du you tink he maybe keeping it fer himself like, or hiding it in his pocket Mr Ristac?..........You made that statement Ristac, and it was bull.
