"I said to the boys, 'treasure this feeling' after the game. But we don't need to have these up and down rollercoasters every week, it's not good for my heart to be honest." Cheers Grant. Now you know how those of us over 60 feel.
As inconsistent as we have been, the gap to the playoffs has decreased. It seemed to be 6 for ages, then 5, then 4. It’s now at 3 despite our inconsistency.
That brought back a memory or two, I used to get the fish dock bus at the corner of St Georges Rd and Anlaby road in the early morning. Many a bitterly cold winters morning standing there waiting for it to come.
The Drama fans must think we breed big uncompromising defenders, I seem to remember Maguire taking 2 of their players out in one tackle.
Well, that was a bit of a smash and grab, but sometimes you don't play your best but find a way to win. Got a bit of our own back for them snatching a 2-3 win at the KCOM earlier in the season. I thought we actually played OK, we stifled their threats, for the most part, it wasn't a swashbuckling type of win, but one we found a way of getting the 3 points. Irvine's winner was really nice to see him get, obviously something they have worked on and in the last 2 games he had missed a couple of chances in a similar position, but third time lucky eh. Eaves coming on certainly turned things in our favour, and with a tiring defence he definitely mixed things up in their backline. On to the Windies who have lost their last 2 games, can we make it three in a row for them?
Haha, We must have all been at the same party when the last booze left was a bottle of Pernod in the kitchen looking lonely. I shudder to this day every time I think about it or smell the stuff.
Good to hear from the post match interviews, Pennington might be able to step in at right back with Lichaj going to left whilst Elder is out...
