safc getting on a roll in this poor league

nothing to be scared of and today we showed some skill and grit required to win

im a huge critic of Parkinson but you would be dead inside not to congratulate him today on the set up of the team and performance

Imo that’s all safc fans want to see. Giving it a real go, bit of skill and shots on goal

two pretty decent finishes today as well

we end this bloody year on a real high - please let it continue in 2020

well Gooch has made the difference today, Maddison/Toney ! (wishful thinking) a 6'5" defender a good midfielder or two and we should do ok, this division is wide open, 23 matches and 69 points to play for, 2 games in hand on a few, i said Wycombe would crack and they are here early next year, look at Peterborough as well.
i cannot predict the top 10 never mind top 2, anyway happy new year let's have a knees up !

There is no way on gods earth that we will get maddison. That is beyond wishful thinking.
We need a right back and a striker.
In power, dobson, o'9, maguire and a recalled Ethan robson we have the makings of a more than adequate mf for this league. With mumba and kimpioka as back up and embleton to return I just dont see the need for more midfield players (who will take at least a month to bed in).
We need shot of lynch, macgluaghlin c and de bock. They are all accidents waiting to happen and havent improved the squad at all.
I'd bring in 2 loans for cover..young players from proper clubs not journeyman cloggers.
But a striker is what we are in urgent need of because none of wyke, grigg, or macnulty are cutting it.
Maybe PP is or has got his message across.
When power and maguire play well we click. Problem is they have 1 good game followed by 2 below average or poor games. They have the ability, but their focus and motivation is questionable

Our result was important and so were those elsewhere.

Teams don't seem able to sustain their form and doubt creeping in can kill the momentum.

With the likes of Wycombe, Peterborough, Ipswich to come to us we can change the look of the table quite quickly.

The transfer window might just give us the momentum we need and outgoings will be as important as signings ...

    .... as is Donald's position.

I have to be honest mate, I wish I'd never posted about the takeover.

I'm just another supporter and only came across information by a couple of work related flukes. They were from two entirely different people, one involved in the takeover and one with no interest in football.

But because what I'd posted was 100% accurate, at the time, it lead to various informed people with various interests contacting me which was weird. I only ever posted what I believed to be true and was ridiculed for it when the goalposts were moved. However, slowly but surely, things are dropping into place. I still believe that what Fuhrman originally said will become reality.

I said in September that Methven was the staff issue, that he and Donald were at each others throats, that local people would be installed and that the Americans would take over ...

... I still believe that it will happen and that Donald is close to the edge.

I was threatened with legal action for some of what I posted, which in my mind means that it was accurate.

Donald's cover has now been blown and there's no going back.

It’s absolute insanity that we are still in the hunt, it shows how piss poor the league really is and what an opportunity has been missed.

In the meltdown of our own form, I missed something crazy that I was made aware of yesterday, Ipswich.

They were second until yesterday, and remain 2 point from automatic promotion.

The crazy part? They have lost 5 and drawn 2 of their last 7. To remain second.

The league is horrific, and a 3 wins in 5 run would put us right in the mix. The season isn’t gone, despite PP.

Whether it's Liverpool winning the league or Sunderland thrashing around in League One you can't do anything without working really really hard. That's what's been lacking and what has been the most frustrating for the supporters. Working hard allows the individual moments of skill to exist.

We have enough talent to be promoted, but it's primarily a team game and everyone has to be an equal part.

This is it, mate, that’s been the frustration.

Yes, the standard is poor within our squad, but it’s not in comparison to the shockingly poor league.

The lack of heart and fight seemed to magically disappear yesterday, lads playing for the shirt, a lot of emotions when goals went in.

Something looked like it had changed, but we will wait and see. We thought this after Tranmere.

The constant in the Tranmere and Doncaster games is Gooch.

It'd be a good idea to sign another player like him as we've seen the difference in the side. Likes to run with the ball, pacy, strong, tenacious, positive intent and looks to shoot often.

Not a big Gooch fan, but if he is providing a spark, I will be changing my mind.

Similarly for Parkinson, not a fan at all, because of poor results, hoof ball, falling out with one of our better players etc, but if we go on a run and win lots of games of course I will change my opinion in the face of newer facts...

If reports are true McGeady needed falling out with and certainly not convinced that PP only has us playing hoof ball, but otherwise in full agreement

Watching the Bolton game with the lad i said to him "where's this hoof ball" ?
As soon as i said it a ball was lumped up into the box :D
But tbh there seemed a decent mix and some good lay offs.

Be interesting to see the players he brings in now, the right striker could make a world of difference .

Beating Fleetwood next will be fantastic.

Well their recent form’s nothing special, like the rest of the top six barring Coventry

Just looked and Oxford have the best form, but none are head and shoulders above.

Hopefully we get a "Marco" in the window.

Great result yesterday, obvs PP has had a word or two. Lets hope the window has a good result and some decent players are recruited. One player I have been monitoring lately, he's only 36 and local at present, Jon Stead, do a job for us still, BHH, and let him do his stuff, seems to be banging in the goals for Harrogate Town.

i think there were other "constants" as well. The outfield players were very close to the Tranmere game squad, only difference was Watmore played from the start and Grigg not Wyke and its does seem to me that McGeady for all his skill and talent was not a good fit with the squad, perhaps foe off-field reasons itbt

I agree, we are a tighter team without McGeady.

    We've got a decent first 11.
