No suspension, amnesty after Match week 19, it's 10 yellows now until Match week 32 unless they have changed the rules. http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/suspensions
As per SaintOsprey update 5 yellows was only at match day 19. Not sure if JWP has 4 or 5 now but irrelevant. He’s not suspended...
They were less inclined to tug on them afterwards! I once recommended Ricky Lambert wore shirts with velcro sides, that would come apart, he was always being shirt tugged!
I'd also read he was on 4 before somewhere so thought that was his 5th and a suspension live . He would have been missed in current form.
It occurred to me that the referee must have realised that someone had pulled Hojberg's shirt, so did he then (subconsciously) want to balance up the infringements? I'm not saying that this happened (we didn't get any dodgy decisions in our favour), but does this sort of thing affect refs, if they have clearly missed a foul, and the evidence is there for all to see? In a separate incident, when a free kick was awarded not far from the penalty area at The Northam end (I think it was for Saints, because the Palace players all surrounded the ref, but it could have been in the second half, for Palace), Zaha tried to whisper/shout/spit in JWP's ear, in a vain attempt to wind him up. Another clear case of intimidation that the referee missed/chose to ignore
PEH was fouled regarding his ripped shirt he had a player hanging on him.....but the ref chose to ignore it. And regarding Zaha he has always been like that ....but where he is a good player and a pundits favourite he always gets away with his antics.
I wonder how many Saints players on 4 bookings are going to get booked against Spurs so they are suspended for the Huddersfield cup game? Or maybe I'm a bit cynical
Don't think people try to get booked deliberately....too easy for a yellow to turn into a red. Never a good idea for footballers to try and be clever.
