That was a stonewall pen. A two handed push in the back is a stonewall pen. VAR is there to correct these type of clear and obvious errors.

Another game where personal mistakes have cost us, Carroll can't give the ball away on the halfway line with only the back 3 behind him with the team having just pressed to win the ball back. Apart from that some very strange subs, not sure why Joelinton came off unless he was injured, that was by far best pest performance in recent months and I'd have kept Lejuene on for Fernandez personally and then we have Atsu and Gayle coming on? Lord help us! Longstaff for Willems as well, who was playing LB after this? Much like the Man U game that probably would have finished 2-1 to them without the personal mistakes and I don't think anyone would have complained, don't think Everton could have complained if it was 1-1 today. Would like to see us line up 4-3-3 when ASM is back with Miggy on the left of the middle 3, Almiron, Willems and ASM would wreak havoc on that left wing and Joelinton looks much better playing out wide and also showed he can work hard for the team. Not sure why he drops so deep, it's like he's to over enthusiastic to help out with the defending side for a striker. Stay on the shoulder of the last defender and create an outlet for us, stop dropping back playing CDM because we don't need him there, we need Miggy, Shelvey or Hayden there - who coincidentally were pressing the strikers area of the pitch because he wasn't up front.

Personally id just play miggy in maxes role and joelinton in miggys carrol uo top .. This longball crap is our future under bruce ...that is clear , so ill just have to accept it
