So we are kind of agreeing really , whilst management is important, so is money , without it it’s difficult to compete with clubs that have it.
Agreed, but you'll also find clubs with money available like Stoke with Bet365 ownership behind them can't get it right on the pitch, whilst others like Preston whose whole squad cost less than £4M and are admirably managed by Alex Neil can. There is no simple right or wrong to this and either argument can ring true. Spending money can buy your way out this division (Aston Villa), and appropriate management (Cardiff with Warnock at the time) spending peanuts to do it made the difference. Horses for courses in terms of both cash and management - both have a role to play.
The division of our fan base is because our Junior got a job he was never entitled. The man who matters thinks he knows better than the majority of City fans. Dare I say a bit like MPs knowing better - that ended in a landslide for the majority. It will end in tears. Although Ashton gets right up my nose he has proved a relevation in fantastic transfer dealings. He's certainly keeping his end up, and I've heard whispers he's having serious doubts about Junior. Ashton's a real pro and we don't need him leaving because of Junior's silver spoon failings.
Money alone doesn’t guarantee success, there are many examples of that true. But without it it’s more difficult to achieve success, although not impossible I agree.
What are the percentages for LJ out to be the majority, who knew better than Lansdown? If you created a vote this week it would be higher but a month ago it would of been lower. Every manager ends in tears, if they are successful and leave as well as they are crap and get sacked.
Rod, think you're making a story to fit your argument. Junior is hated and will never succeed here. 4 years, how much longer ? I only watch on the box, but every time I think thank fcuk I didn't spend hours and hours travelling just to watch such utter dross. Identity ffs ? Bloody hell they're having a laugh.
Spot on Rod...RP's been saying it will end in tears ever since LJ got the Job.....ALL managers efforts eventually ends in tears, even if Jose was in charge......silly comment IMO. Also, one minute it's fantastic transfer dealings, the next it's a disaster......it's just a hatred thing against LJ whenever the chance arises.....normally after a few bad results.............................................Fickle! As it stands,,,,,still doing a good job in my tearless eyes
I’m not fitting anything though. You made a matter of fact comment and I’m just questioning it. I admit he was never my choice but improving the finishing position year on year is better than what I would of expected. However I do admit this year the football is poor compared to previous seasons even when we are winning. But I also realise most clubs have a blip in this division and normally after his poor runs we’ve gone onto better runs. One thing I do believe is when ever we’ve changed managers, when has the club or any club got a manager that 100% fan base actually wanted? Closest I’ve known us to getting a manager a big percentage wanted was SoD and the least said about that the better.
Fair play Rod. I agree there will never be 100% agreement on any manager. Junior however is total different kettle of fish. We all know why. Anyway let's hope we stop the rot today.
Why is he? Jose must have been in his time, if your argument lends itself to anything....Never played football professionally.......Means nothing!
Who's giving him the silver spoon? Is that a criticism to our owner? Don't get your point....Seems he saw something in him as a head coach, which has proven right in the past 4 years, being one of the best managers this club has had....Being consistent in the championship, no other coach has managed to achieve.
So are you saying we haven’t finished higher in the league year on year ? , it’s a fact that we have, to say we haven’t is just daft and factually wrong
