I hate running, I find it so boring. Same with the Gym, I had membership a couple of years ago but it was like watching paint dry being in there and just totally uninspiring. I think surfing is the best exercise for me, because it's a big cardio work out, plus riding waves is thrilling and it's great to be out in the natural world watching the skies, sea and wildlife. It's also a good social activity with a good scene around it.
Your rear mech will probably be okay. It depends on whether you've snapped the hanger (likely) or snapped the frame (bad news) But like I said, the mech hanger is the sacrificial lamb which is designed to break first so that you don't end up having to buy a new frame !
HIAG mate, I've still got the picture of you resting your tablet on your gut table mate You ain't in any position to be calling anybody a chubster.
Should look something like this. It will be a specific part that fits the frame of your bike though. It's an easy visual check to see if it's the hanger that's broken. You can pick up a replacement for around £20 please log in to view this image
I'll take a pic when I get home. The actual rear mech is now in two parts, but it looks like a pin that has sheared. Should be fixable. The hanger itself is just bent. It's part of the frame itself though?
Was up there last week. Was absolutely dead. The next contractor haven't done much since either. Bar moan by the sounds of it!
Yeah, it was real busy up to about a week ago. They had a street market thing going on, with loads of roads closed, which went on for ages. Then, just before Christmas, it all stopped.
I just drove to the Trafford Centre and turned around when I saw the queue. That was my lot for today. I’m now tucking into a hot chocolate with a New York Deli Panini. Word.
Youre mad going so soon after xmas, bet it was packed. After some after boxing day deals? **** that for a laugh tho
Yeah you should be able to get that serviced by a decent bike shop. Depends how badly damaged it is. They are precision parts so if it’s taken a hefty whack it might be toast. Depends on your bike, but the hanger should be a separate part that attached to he frame and the rear mech. Didn’t you do this by chucking your bike over a wall down here or something ?
I don't do running. Couldn't run if I wanted to these days. Knees back and ankle are fooked from football in my younger days. Even when I was fit and young the furthest I ever ran was three miles and I was seeing stars after that. Never felt the need for distance running when all I ever needed to do was run fast in short bursts on a football pitch. The most exercise I get these days is walking my dawgs. Two working cockers so that's a lot of walking. I'm 6'2" and 15 stone. Could do with losing a stone and a half. Problem I always find is that I'm not very flexible and nearly always suffer from some sort of joint pain.
Do some Yoga bruv. You don't have to start chanting or burning jos sticks. But just some basic stretching. Your body will thank you for it
Will start a cut in January, according to those ****ty scale things that measure your body fat I’m 14% now, want to get back around the 10-12 mark. Should be doable in a couple of months
Of you lived in London youd be one of those tai chi mofos popping slow shapes in yoga pants barefoot on the common
