play some part in the game against brighton tonight, and am i excited? am i f**k.why? well maybe 3,4 or even 5 years ago i would of been excited about gerrard coming back from injury, but now? na cos i dont think he has that force anymore, but again that is just my opinion, cos i will be waiting again for the next injury.
As usual alot of talk about Torres,if the mardy twat had stuck with kenny,i think he would of benefitted with the service of charlie adam and downing and also playing along side suarez, but hey we will never no.
Andy carroll will come good,he is only 22 ffs and he will get better and better.all the newcastle fans i speak to say he is a long way off from becoming the finished article, and they would have him back yesterday,so patience.
Tonights game is a real banana skin in the making, brighton are doing really well under poyet, but again if we beat them, well we should of done they will be saying, but if we get beat,my gosh await the reaction and the headlines.dont think it will be easy cos it wont, believe me.

A few people seem to be writing Stevie off,for me its far too early for that,if he stays fit hes a top player... end of!!!

As for Brighton , ur right it wont be easy, I sorta hopin they may take there eyes off us a bit, with playin Leeds in an important league game on FRIDAY

The likes of Downing,Lucas,Suarez should get a rest

Gerrard is still a quality player, looking forward to him being in the team again.

I think he has a good football brain and will be able to adjust as he gets older.

Why are people writing him off? Last year he was on the bench in a Europa League game against Napoli, we were losing 1-0, and he came on and scored a hat-trick in like 20 mins? If that?

All I'm saying is let him get a game first!

Gerrard is the player you need to bring on if you're a goal down. If we'd brought him on at 1-0 down against Stoke, I doubt anyone would have been sent off and we'd probably have rallied to a 1-1 draw. He inspires the players around him to do well, and in turn he plays them balls etc... to make them look good.

I think once he's fit, he needs to be a luxury player. Same with Carragher, they need to not play every match and come on when the time is right, otherwise we'll see Gerrard out once again by the end of the season and Carragher getting slower and worse every game. They need now to take a backseat supportive role rather than the focal point of the team.

Gerrard has been struggling for a little while but I'd like to put it down to those little injuries. Hopefully, he will come back in better shape physically and then we can really see if he has 'lost it'.

Personally, I don't think he will be as good as he was in his peak but I do think he can still contribute a lot to the team in terms of assists, goals and presence. Also, I don't think he has played a lot under Kenny and this rejuvenated side and I think he will thrive in it.

To my mind Gerrard was playing injured for at least a season before the last one. If that is true then some of his performances have been amazing. He is without doubt a quality player who has managed to develop and hone his skills throughout his career. I see no reason why a mature Gerrard with more quality players around him cannot adapt his skills yet again to meet the needs of the team.

Sure, he will need match time to get fully re-habilitated but he does have an eye for a defence splitting pass, a hell of a shot and a charisma that helps lift other players. We may not see 40 yard gut-busting runs but we maystart to see the player further up the pitch that can be the catalyst for the potential threat of a Carroll/Suarez partnership.

Tonight I expect to see him start and play for the first 60 mins.

I can't wait to see him play again, I think many of us have forgotten how good a player he actually is.

I have no worries about Steven coming back into the team, as now he doesn't have to carry the team like he had to last season when Torres wasn't interested. Theres no know pressure on him to put in worldy performances, and he can now sit back and be part of a team that carries itself. The likes of Kuyt, Suarez, Downing, Lucas etc... will all help him t carry the team now.
