Doncaster Rovers v Sunderland – Skybet League One
    DRFCvSAFC.GIF
Last time out Sunderland drew with Bolton and Doncaster won at Peterborough.
Phil Parkinson will be looking to hang onto his job after the poor result against Bolton on Boxing Day. The Black Cat's will again be without Dobson due to suspension.
Doncaster sit in 14th place in League One with 28 points and above Sunderland on goal difference.
Rovers will celebrate the lives of those that we have lost in 2019 prior to the game on Sunday.
    Phil Parkinson:
"I am disappointed not to get all three points. I thought we had enough dominance to come away with all three points today.”
"The disallowed goal is a big talking point. When things aren't going your way it's hard. If we had got one, I think we would've won the game comfortably."
"We created enough chances, put a lot of good crosses into the box but just couldn't find that moment to settle everyone down."
“I understand the frustration of the supporters, they paid their money to come and watch the team. They have a passion to see their team win games of football.”
“We haven’t done that enough. I totally understand their frustration. We want to get into January and add a bit of quality to help the ones that we have got already. If we do that I am confident that we will turn these draws into wins.”
    Darren Moore:
“You’re always disappointed to concede one from a set-piece, especially when it could’ve otherwise been ruled out, but we have to take it on the chin and we move on quickly, I said to the players that while we haven’t won, at least we haven’t lost it either.”
“There’s so much spirit, so much togetherness, and you’ve seen that when we scored the goal here, we have to keep that going, keep on working hard and doing what we’ve been doing as we head into this busy Christmas period”
“My mentality is to be in the game with the players, I kick every ball with them, every moment I live with them, I see the game as it is, we want to stick together, keep the focus, keep doing what we’re doing and keeping the focus.
“We’re doing the hard bit which is creating the chances, we keep getting in those areas, now we have to move on to this Peterborough game, we have to work for our moment, to try and build some momentum and that’s my message to the players.”

    My two pence:
After the Boxing Day result, we need to kick on and get some more points on the board. Sadly, if PP is still in charge, all that I can see is another away defeat.
If you are reading Phil - pick that team <laugh>

My guess is a 2-1 home win

I could do with a few more tickets for this game, if anyone hears of any ...

    ... our support is incredible.

Think he'll go five at the back again as he'll want to build on a clean sheet and Dobson will come in for Leadbitter

Cracking thread, as per usual RTB.

After the last few months and the Boxing Day debacle, "meh" seems awfully polite !

We have to think about the supporters 2 matches in 3 days as well, Doncy then s**t*y arse's team on newrers day. I use to do that and remember the 6-1 at Notts county that was a long journey home(all matches played on Saturday them days by the way) !

If we can keep them to three or less we'll have had a good day despite the final score being nailed on home win.
I've lost faith in the club especially our incompetent manager.

No it won't, it will just make everyone more depressed and leave us further adrift. Parkinson will get the transfer window and beyond which I hope he uses to produce a winning team that gets us in the play-offs at least.

    I really & sincerely hope you’re right.

I hate being negative but our (yes our) team is so bad, there is little hope.

Is PP the man to turn things around? From what we’ve seen so far, it’s a resounding NO.

I really hope I’m wrong, but at the moment I fear League 2 beckons.

This is the first home on my coupon this weekend. I’m backing against safc every game until parkinson has gone.

it was very well rewarded doing the same in the Grayson era

No chance whatsoever of the above happening. I’ve seen this script for so long now at safc

did you hear of Peterborough 0-3 Doncaster on Boxing Day? Whilst safc splendidly held Bolton to a 0-0 at home
