Alonso and Kermorgant playing against the Spam, will be interesting to see how they perform. Link for Twitter/Facebook updates below. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20110920/charlton-v-development-squad-live_2236884_2456412
Would have been nice to have gone along to that, why does our club never tell us of reserve games before they happen, its normally once its over/whilst its being played. I presume its 'behind closed-doors?'
That's a strong reserve team lineup, I see Benson isn't playing, I presume he's still feeling the effects of his injury?
Good to see Alonso playing, he could be very important to us what with Hollands triplets about to bring him sleepless nights
Werent behind closed doors, shame they didnt advertise it on the CAFC website i wouldnt of minded going to see the game... ''Not much pattern to the game so far, but plenty of famous faces in the small crowd. Julian Dicks, Pat Holland and Micky Adams are all here, as is former Charlton boss Steve Gritt, who is now scouting for Bournemouth.'' Won the game 1-0 with Fox coming off the bench to grab the winner with 10mins to go, Good run out for the fringe players
The 3 players we're probably most interested in Alonso, Green and Kermorgant all only played the first half, I don't know whether they're all lacking fitness, but we seemed to improve in the 2nd half.
Perhaps those three only played in the first half as CP is considering putting them in the squad against Chesterfield? Afterall Hollands will be knackered from his kids (and CP said there's no rush for him) so Alonso may come in for him, plus Green should really be involved in our league games, and Jason Euell doesn't give us the excitement we crave when coming on so maybe he'll be dropped for Kermorgant.
Dick, did you form any opinion of the fitness of Alonso and Kermorgant? If fit enough they could be on the bench for Chesterfield, along with Green. After winning away at Rochdale, CP won't drop Waggy even if everyone agrees that Green is the better longer-term option for RM. Pritchard is the natural stand-in for Hollands if one is required.
Green has been ill with a virus, did not look 100% against Preston, how did he do? Alonso, so he does exist then?
Difficult to say, they both came off early.Alonso was doing some sprint exercises.I think it is a big ask for both to be ready for Saturday.JPT is more likely.
Green wasn't that impressive but i still think he is not fully fit.Think he will be a big player for us when he gets fit.Kermit did ok but it is difficult to form an opinion after only watching him for one half.
