Alot of people has said our downturn is down to 'morale' and that players are down in the dummps with confidence. I however think Eboue is to blame. And here's why Eboue was the clubs 'go to guy' for younger stars asking for advice, now who do they go to as eboue spoke like 10 different languages. Eboue was the clubs 'Hugger' and gave hugs out daily and even the players ran to him on the bench after scoring to give him a hug. Eboue was arsenals class clown, Always larking around and playing practical joke that make people happy and boosted this 'morale' . I know its actually down to every player on the pitch and not eboue now he has left but he did have his qualities mainly off the pitch. I miss you eboue
Maybe a bigger miss off the pitch rather than on. His giving away of the pen v Lpool last season still makes me angry.
There's a difference between eboue and Djourou. It wasn't all eboue's fault, but Djourou is to blame for everything. I'd rather start Squilaci than Djourou.
Bit hard to blame Squillaci or Almunia when they have disappeared of the face of the earth. Come to think of it was Almunia ever there or was he just a bad dream?
What a hugely unsatisfactory game that was. I actually thought that penalty to be a little harsh. There was nothing deliberate on Eboue's part as they were both going for the ball. The ref was appalling that day. What really irked me was Dalglish's outburst at Arsene at the end of the match. Totally classless and changed my view of the man forever.
Well Robin as far as I recall, amidst all the shenanigans on the pitch both managers walked towards each other and yes Arsene was annoyed and disappointed and all he asking was how was that a penalty. Dalglish responded saying it was a penalty in a " that's it mate " sort of way and Arsene obviously felt otherwise. Then Dalglish told him to p*** off and followed it up with a f*** off with accompanying wave of wrist. I saw nothing from Arsene that warranted such a response from Dalglish. The match was still being played out some considerable time after the 90 minutes and I just felt that the referee might have justifiably blown instead of allowing it to go on. Just IMHO you understand. But I didn't like Dalglish's overboard reaction to Arsene. That he later tried to change the subject when asked by reporters by asking what a conversation by two managers had to do with them or something like that considering the saga was played out before the cameras only suggested to me that he felt he was in the wrong. The only reaction from either manager that was rude and unprofessional was Dalglish's, not Wenger's. That was how I saw it and again last evening when I reviewed the incident on YouTube.
I'll have to go with RvB on this one. I sit behind the away dug out & had a pretty good view. IMO Dalglish did appear to be looking for a row!
