    Boil them. Cool them. Then make a mix of flour, brown sugar, mustard powder; salt and garlic powder. Then douse them in oil then shake the flour mix on them.

    They are.

    Unless you don't actually cook them, once they are cooked, they're a horrible soft consistency/texture.

    It's not even that though, it's the sickly sweetness. They are just not nice.

    Read the thread, i boiled them for nearly 5 minutes first.

    Then roasted in oil and butter, with sea salt and chilli flakes, and they ain't mushy.

    Is this one very large parsnip we're taking about?

    Can't imagine there being much left of a normal size peeled/boiled/roasted one.

    I just don't like them. Similar in most ways to a carrot, bar colour and taste.

    Carrots are orange and are delicious whichever way you cook them.

    Parsnips are neither.
