They didn’t save the club, they robbed it for buttons from the *cough* administrators. They can take credit for appointing Klopp, but that’s about it imo. They sacked off the SP development choosing a low cost piece meal rebuild of Anfield that’s disjointed imo. They’ve ridden the wave that he created.
....... and taken us to the largest profit ever recorded in British football It's team work FSG/Klopp/players/fans - we've got it right from top to bottom. It started with FSG and they've pretty much got every decision right. One of the biggest was not moving. As Wenger has recently said, Arsenal left their soul at Highbury.
The owners trousering a record profit, that’s something every fan dreams of mate. As I said, they got lucky with Klopp.
Arsene Wenger believes that Liverpool's Anfield Stadium has 'special vibes' that makes it the best ground in England https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ium-anfield-liverpool-epl-table-a7420521.html
Spoken like a true Sky era plassie. Oh and btw from that irrelevant article you posted; “Before it was Highbury. It had a special soul. Now it's Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle was great too.”
Ancelotti. At the time it was said that Ancelotti comes in and tweaks an already performing good team and that wasn't what we had Klopp builds teams and that was what we needed and that's exactly what he's done to perfection. He's a perfect fit for us.
I wonder why Ancelotti agreed to be the 3rd most highly paid manager in the PL even though Everton doesn't suit his style at all.
Ancelotti is a great move for Everton, no idea why he would go there though. I assume it was a bit more like Mouinho where he is starting to run out of options having jumped around a lot.
You'd like to think that wouldn't you When we signed Klopp we made him the 4th highest earning manager (and our own highest ever earner on more than twice as much as Rodgers, ) So no Ancelotti wasn't too expensive. He wasn't the right fit. Anybody who knows anything about football couldn't possibly say that Klopp and Liverpool aren't a perfect fit.
I was taking the piss mate. As I said, they made a good choice in Klopp, that doesn’t mean Ancelotti would have been the wrong one either though. That’s a daft assertion.
They obviously did a good job of convincing him of the clubs ambition. The stadium, player funding etc. Some of the pundits have made me laugh. As plenty of them were saying virtually simultaneously the other week, that he was just what Arsenal needed, but would somehow be a massive gamble for Everton. ****ing beauts
In some ways yes, in others no. I said when they binned Silva that they should start their recruitment by starting with trying to get the best manager who was available (or potentially available) and then work down the list. They’ve done that and bagged a World class manager. The talk of a manger being a good ‘fit’ for one club and not another is bollocks imo, you’re either a great manager or you’re not. In terms of budget Everton are probably one of the most ambitious clubs in Europe currently. We just need the right manager to oversee spending it!
