    The tail has wagged the dog for far too long at Sunderland.

    The players on the whole are uncommitted and unfit. The manager is right to call them out.

    I would suggest that Reidy inherited a better squad of back up players , take a look at the U23 team’s performances and the league table if you want to frighten yourself to death - we must react positively in the January transfer market or we are heading to oblivion . We need everyone at the club to focus on improving our current position , stop the infighting and get on with the job you are getting paid for .

    Agree totally. But iirc reserve team football was exactly that back then. Not the pissy u23 you have now. A pl reserve side was around the same quality as a lower level championship side. The way they’ve made things go has destroyed that. The kids learned more in a reserve side as they were playing against and with “proper” players. Much easier to learn from the, than just play against other u23s.
