    Hi All!

I'm Matt from Wolves Fancast and wanted to see if I could ask a favour?

We are recording an episode of the podcast tomorrow night and to do something different we are going to talk about the 2005 film Goal!

As a huge chunk of the film is set in and around Newcastle and portrays the football club and some of it's stars, was wondering if anyone was willing to give their thoughts on the film and any favourite or least favourite parts of the film?

Anyone who get's a mention will be credited on the pod :) so any comments are appreciated

    Thanks

    Matt

    Santiago Munez is Miguel Almiron.

Film was decent, I enjoyed it, haven't seen it for ages, might rewatch it over the holidays.

Like the bit where he's jogging along Tynemouth coast, just because I like the place. Free-kick against Liverpool too (Laurent Robert)

The backdrop of Newcastle is good, the passion of the player was nice to imagine as let's be honest for every player that comes over and send to really care there's a handful of mercenaries. I always thought of the character in more of a Nobby Solano type manner but Robert is probably closer to the mark now you mention it. All anyone wants from players is passion. PS Anna Friel would have got it too.

A bang average film for anyone is not a) a football fan or b) from Newcastle.

Was cheesy in places but the scenery was amazing.

Alan Shearer was a better actor than David Beckham.

Kate Tomlinson and Anna Friel threesome would have made the film a worldie.

Oh and it's football not soccer. Silly Yanks

The fact a couple of his goals was ripped from real ones scored by the legend that is Lauren Robert.

He was twice the player Santiago Munez was!

In the version they were going to make with Rafa in charge he stayed on the bench all season as he wasn’t disciplined enough defending and then we sold him to Fulham on the cheap.

I see that the budget for the film was less than we spent on Joelinton. Making a sequel would have probably given us more joy than he has to date.
