Troy Deeney speaks We’ve been close for ages. The performances against Liverpool and Leicester were good...It’s massive for us. And I am just happy the people here can go away and have a decent Christmas...you could see the lads celebrating that free-kick. We wanted a clean sheet, and the boys deserve it. Real pressure is watching my mum work three jobs for Christmas. These boys have been grafting for the three months I haven’t been here. We don’t take anything for granted, we have won just one game...the gaffer has been top drawer.
Excellent win and performance. Well deserved win. Nice helping hand always useful! Very solid in defence and Foster did well when called upon. Hughes was excellent and Deeney caused no end of problems. Very welcome early Christmas present!
Nigel Pearson say he is "very confident" that his Watford team can avoid relegation from the Premier League after they collected just their second win of the season against Manchester United at Vicarage Road. The Hornets moved within six points of safety and level on points with Norwich in 19th after defeating a dismal United side that remain eighth. "We are in a difficult situation but I believe we can get out of it," said new Watford boss Pearson. "We needed that very badly because it would have been difficult to go beyond Christmas without a win. "I thought we did some good things, deserved to win the game and there is more to come. "In the situation we are in, we have do anything we can to win a game. The players committed to the game exceptionally well. "I'll be very confident we can get out of this situation."
One of the best performances so far, the best being against Liverpool If we can put in those performances for the rest of the season we could even finish the same as last year 11th but with imputes to carry over to next year
When Pogba puts a long ball in to Greenwood, BBC describe it as a “great pass” and “a really clever idea”. NBC commentator (British, can’t remember who) describes it as “great vision”. Why, when we do it, is it described as “speculative”?
Because....how could (Dare) Watford ever have the quality of player that would have the vision, intelligence or skill to pull off such a pass!!! Big Club Bias at its very best....
Remember the Eighties? Glen Hoddle would hit a 60-80 yard pass for someone to try and get under control "superb pass a true master of the art" Ian Bolton would dispossess a forward, look up and hit a 40-60 yard pass on to the toe of Barnes or Callaghan "kick and rush football, the destroyer of the beautiful game"
Did you see Wilmot's pass during the move for Swansea's goal on Saturday? That was superb. N.B. in the short time Pogba was on the pitch he created more openings than the rest of the united players together. He definitely has vision.
I agree. Superb. It’s just when we do it, it’s represented that we are in some way not playing to the spirit of the game.
Agreed BUT we need 6 points from every 4 games needed and with Wolves Spurs Everton Liverpool Leicester and Man city 6 of our 9 home games it means we will need to win away from home or beat some of the top side at home and we CAN do it
