If money needs to be raised to buy better players, or if room needs to be found in the squad for new ones ( ) Thank you and goodbye .... Chris Solly Adam Matthews Naby Sarr Ben Purrington Jason Pearce Lewis Page Jake Forster Caskey Leko & Field Oztumer Hemed Kayal Aneke None of the above has convinced in the Championship this season, albeit for different reasons. I would keep Pratley & Bonne. I would build a new team around a spine of Phillips, Lockyer, Cullen, Gallagher and Taylor if he stays.
He's got a point though. These players are under contract or are loanees. You can't just terminate a contract for free just because a player hasn't played well enough. I would send the Brighton 2 back though because I can't see them contributing in any way. The were ok to play for Israel but not for us. Hemed looked lazy when he did appear and Kayal looked mediocre. As for the rest, even a L1 player is better than no player.
I'm tempted to agree with this - indeed I'd walk Sarr to the station myself and make sure he gets on his train. But I think to attempt such a huge overhaul in January would A) Cost about four times as much as if you do it in the summer B) Lead to a team of strangers, even if you did manage to sign 9 or 10 new faces. A recipe for instability in the last four months of the season. Personally I'd not let some of those players near the senior team again. Though I would give more chances to Leko Aneke Matthews Solly (from time to time) Pearce (if really necessary) Oztumer (if it's his Birthday)
Particularly if the takeover still hasn’t happened after today’s news. I was more highlighting players in the current squad who are expendable in January.
Based on the QPR game today- this is a level too high for Ben Purrington- he needs to be shown the door in Jan. Ditto Naby Sarr. So many costly individual errors. On the plus side - Alfie Doughty was very good and Albie Morgan is really starting to look a decent footballer.
As was said elsewhere, pretty much called the EPL incompetent previously, but now wants them to pull out all the stops so he can get his hands on the money.
https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/...and-west-brom-loanee-could-face-similar-fate/ Kayal has been a disaster. There is a footballer in Leko, he just needs to know when to pass it. Too much running down blind alleys. He has contributed with five goals. I hear that we are trying to bring in Kane and Brewster from Liverpool.
The no-show of the Brighton Two has been for me the major let-down of the season. If they'd been half as good as we expected them to be we'd be in a far healthier position. The success of Three of Our Own, Phillips, Doughty and Morgan has been the biggest plus for me.
Absolutely right on that last sentence. Oztumer & Aneke have been very underwhelming as well, but that’s what you get when forced to shop cheap.
Yes Aneke's a great disappointment, I'd completely forgotten about him. I liked the look of him on his first appearance as sub, then he scored a good goal, but since then just a series of muscular injuries, which suggests he won't have much of a career.
kayal, leko and now joe ledley seem to have been told to go. getting in 3 replacements should help a bit - the wages are already balanced on the books so shouldnt matter who still owns us.
