Do we want to ban john hughs?

Vetch, I know things are complex, and I was on 606 too but not as long as many who were there for years before, but I feel its time you and proph just said ok enough is enough, Forget the past, and just move on past it. As much **** that has happened and continues, there comes a time where you just gotta say Lets put this behind us. Be it a matter of pride or just being stubborn, you both need to just call it quits on this feud. Do us all on this forum, and the guys on the cardiff forum too, and just please speak to proph together, and just say ya know what, regardless of the past lets just move past this bull **** and bury the whole matter. No need to argue over past ****, im sure he too would be cool with it, and you both might surprise one another, and might actually see that you may agree on more things than you knew if you both could only take the time to appreciate that its the differences with the similarities that make you both individuals.

Ain't having a go in case it comes across, but seeing your a fellow jack, it would be wrong for me to approach the cardiff man before the swansea one. There plenty on both sides who just really wanna finally lay this to rest. Please don't read over and ignore it man.

Just to clarify my position here. I am now having to deal with lying individuals,cardiff based,who are jumping on the profit bandwagon,and whilst I am endeavouring to ignore the No.1 propogandist, his continual postings,coupled with his rabble rousing,is making it rather difficult.

As has been suggested by many on here,there's always the ignore button.

 

Well said ToL1D7. Like I said in my first post, I'm not for banning anyone and I'll happily mod anything that john hughs puts up, but if people want him banned it's an option.

I just wish he'd get a grip a bit. Banter is fun, constantly having someone giving you unimaginative **** all the time isn't.

 

there is an ignore button?? dont mind JH when he talks sense but some of drivel he comes up is just inane. i vote no to the ban but as long as someone can delete his silly comments. hope that makes sense

 

Its a PUBLIC FORUM so I am entitled to do whatever I want as long as im not breaking any rules, surely you have the intelligence to realise that when a poll is created about a Cardiff fan then Cardiff fans will get involved.

Vetch you say you have never called anyone a NAZI, I have a question for you that will put this other argument to bed. Why do you keep calling Proph Joseph Goebells then who was in fact a NAZI.

 

Just thought I'd throw a few personal observations into the mix.

I think jackdan has got it spot on. By virtue of this and a thread on the CCFC board, the subject matter has got the attention he craves without lifting a finger (which makes the following a complete contradiction)
I've no idea what level he's sunk to on here in the past but I saw an example of it yesterday so I can only imagine.
Personally, I disagree with banning (unless it's an extreme case or a collective request). I'm sure in this case it would make this board a better place but other than the odd "qiz" (?) question, I haven't seen anything on the CCFC board to warrant it (although a continuation of yesterday's bile could tip the balance)
A lot of you guys post on CCFC without any problems so the question for you all is, IF he's banned from here and not from CCFC, and you see a post on our board, are you going to let rip with both barrels there? If so, whats the point in banning him from here? Cake and eat it spring to mind (aww, gonna miss Parkin), plus... think of all the extra work I'll have (that's irrelevant but just thought I'd put it out there ).
The very few I have on my ignore list (no jacks btw) I rarely see posting anymore so I guess it does work...eventually.

HTR: Calling a truce is welcome but as I mentioned yesterday, you don't help your cause and I think its possibly gone past that point. I'd like to think I'm wrong on this one but time will tell.

It's a good point about if he was banned from here, how would our posters react on your board. I think, if the subject matter was on your board then it's up to yourselves where you draw the line. The reason I put this poll up is because JH doesn't simply enter into debate on our forum, he regularly posts threads with no value other than trying to get a rise and takes pride in derailing conversation. This poll will be the last thread created on him, hopefully anyway.

I'd like to think if he was banned from this board then and Swansea posters would respect that what he says on the Cardiff board is up to him, regardless of how the Jacks feel about it.

 

Theres a cetain Swansea poster who regularly posts on the Cardiff board that never adds anything decent and is always ruining threads, I would personally like him banned and im sure if I created a similar poll on the Cardiff board (which im not going to do) then the Cardiff fans would vote to ban him.

Scott, I do understand why you have put this poll up however I know this is repetitive but surely the whole point of the ignore button is so you dont see his threads, the knock on effect there is people dont reply and without this attention this problem will probably disappear.

The problem is though why should we all have to ignore him? Anyone new signing up to the forum, or simply browsing, will be put off by his inane ramblings. Also, if he's posting really nasty abusive stuff, if everyone is ignoring him it'll take longer to get flagged up.

I'm aware creating a poll/thread about it is ironic, but if it solves what is becoming a bigger problem one way or another I feel everyone will be happier.

You have made THREE Nazi references in this thread alone.

I'm quite willing to let this go, as people are getting pissed off with it, but the problem is if I post anything at all on a Swansea thread, (which I'm quite entitled to do) Vetch is all over it like a rash looking for sometimes real, but more often than not imagined slights and insults, it doesn't matter whether they are there or not.....he will find something. or if not invent something......he will then read my mind and tell me what my intentions were and accuse me of wumming whether that was the intention or not.......then he goes off on one of his rants comparing me to a Nazi propaganda minister, which is particularly insulting as he know's that I have Jewish heritage (which has been confirmed by a respected Swansea poster who knows me well.........not good enough for Vetch I invented my heritage as a stick to beat him with in his twisted mind)

I am quite willing to let this go if this individual stops going of on his ridiculous, insulting rants, I don't mind banter but this specimen goes beyond reasonable banter, I am more than willing to let this drop, but I refuse to be bullied or browbeaten by vetch or anyone else, because my opinions and views may differ from theirs. If he drops the Nazi inferences and sticks to reasonable banter, and refrains from personal insults, well it will cease to be a problem.

Forgive me because I have not read all the comments but wanted to have a say because the OP makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Banning on this forum is a last resort and not something that takes place every day and in the main it takes place quietly at the request of the mods. By having votes on should we ban this user or that users opens up personal issues and potential wich hunts.

In most cases a ban takes place when someone is a problem, a PM goes to them from a mod pointing out they should calm down, the PM is either ignored or met with abuse then a PM comes to me requesting a ban.

What does help the mods is an agreed set of house rules, debated, voted on by the board members then posted on the board. This way everyone knows what is acceptable, if a board member is concerned about a visitor he can PM the mods who can act.
