We just lurch from one disaster to another. I hope Donald doesn't stick his heels in with Parkinson. He must realise soon this bloke will NEVER be a success at Sunderland. Once the fans turned against him, there is no way back. The club has become caustic...what players would even remotely want a transfer to Sunderland and play for us in January.
Not disputing what Smug has reported but at moment is fashionable to criticise club for any little thing that happens. I daresay flare ups/disputes at training are commonplace at most clubs and hardly ever reported because they are soon forgotten about. I am hoping this is just the case and reading little into it
Donald needed to hire a no nonsense manager and failed in not bringing Pearson in. The only managers who have had a modicum of success at this ****ed up club are Reidy, Keane and Allardyce. Funnily enough, managers who take no **** and the players know who's boss. Pearson would have been the same and it shows the monumental **** up SD made when Watford hired him. Not good enough for a sorry state of a club in L1 but perfect for a Premier League club
Well I have my doubts going off what watmore and O’Nien said about the dressing room and manager, and they are 2 of the more open n honest lads
That's fair enough mate, I'm just posting what I've been told by two different people now ... ... I'm not trying to prove a point.
so wheres our captain at, he should be telling them to play for the fans. the one constant at the club, who will be there long after this shambles is all sorted out.
Understand what you're saying but players aren't gonna come out and say the dressing room is in a **** state and we all hate the manager etc. Coming out and saying that isn't going to do their SAFC careers any good, or I imagine any potential future employment if a manager or owner knows they've previously spoken out against management and the club in general.
Maybe this is Parkinson not taking any ****. If Kieron Brady is right and players pitch up thinking SAFC is a holiday camp, of course they're going to throw a tantrum if the manager starts laying down the law. Di Canio didn't take any **** and look how they reacted to him.
Club lacks leadership top to bottom, and the playing staff is only the tip. Leadbitter hasn’t even done any press work as captain, supposedly Mr Sunderland in the squad more like Mr Invisible. Give the armband to Willis. He looks like he could slap a couple of them about and he’s a rare beam in a genuinely traumatic season. Let someone step the **** up and get a hold of the situation. It’s ****ing painful. Keane, Di Canio and Poyet has it on the nose and we’re peddled cos the cowardly playing staff stopped playing. Hindsight is a stab in the throat.
Yes what we need is a sergeant major type like keane who would never allow players to disrespect a manager because he never did it himself when ...ooh dear
I hope you're right mate and hopefully it's not too little too late. Parkinson strikes me as a softly kindly type of manager but if he can do nasty then good on him and hopefully is works for him as ultimately, I just want results on the pitch and if that comes at the cost of crappy football then so be it. The most important thing, first and foremost, is getting SAFC out of this unbelievably terrible league
Keane only had success at safc while he had money to spend. When the money tap was turned off he was like a rabbit in the headlights. We were getting trounced regularly by the time he decided to run away. His no nonsense methods worked a treat at Ipswich, left them in a financial mess and a playing list of rubbish. His stints as bib boy to other managers hardly did him any good. Most overrated manager in football.
