I don’t believe any team in the Championship will be able to improve striker wise unless we lose Nketiah and he goes elsewhere. Someone might take an unknown and striker and hit lucky otherwise I just can’t see it. Who would be willing to sell a goal scoring version of Bamford and realistically what would they cost? What value is Nketiah and when you see how little game time he gets under Bielsa? It’s a tricky situation because let’s pretend we have £15m to splash, would you as the owner be willing to spend it when you see what happens to the likes of Nketiah, Izzy last season and even Costa, he only got game time due to injury, Bielsa is not a fan of change, we were offered White last season and Bielsa said no. Bielsa doesn’t like too much talent sitting on the bench, he likes the Berardi’s, Forshaws and Roberts type players, they get a game but they don’t make waves about not being first choice. If we had White version 2 or Cooper version 2 Bielsa would probably drop Phillips back instead, we’ve seen how he prefers moving Dallas into a central role and moving White into DM over bringing in a new face. I’m not knocking Bielsa, we should be top, we’re in the autos, it’s just his way, I can’t see any player he’d happily and realistically replace.
A lot of pressure on Scott Parker now, after losing 3 on the trot. Reading on a Fulham forum, it looks like they play a certain style of getting the full backs forward constantly putting balls in the box, where Mitrovic duly obliges with the goals. In the last 3 games the opposition have nullified that by playin 3 up front, taking the full backs attacking game out of the match. Looks like this could be a big game for Harrison and Costa, as I'm pretty certain Bielsa will have worked it out too.
Morning all. Leeds always seem to pull it out of the bag against the better sides (I'm ignoring Naarwich last season here to suit my argument you understand ) so I think we will turn Fulham over. 0-2 Leeds. Ell, why have you stopped doing the score predictor on the match threads? Poor old Shako is missing predicting a 3-0 loss every week.
I was optimistic until last week. It brought all the memories from last season and leaves me wondering if nothing has changed. The Fulham game is important but it's not make or break. I'd take a draw at this stage.
This for me is our toughest away fixture this season. Fulham along with ourselves and WBA will finish in the top 3...what remains to be decided are the final positions. As we know from last season, and if we're being honest throughout our history is we're not the best in high pressure situations. To alleviate that Biesla has this season created a different mental approach, in that he's instilled in the squad that each and every match is just another game to go out and perform to our best capabilites. If we do that (and we have been all season) then the results and the final League position will be favourable. So far it's working and I don't see/hear anyone at the club not sticking to the mantra of one game at a time.
Fulham have lost 3 on trot, so we need to be wary of'em, they have to have a comeback match sooner or later. 2-0 or 2-1, if we play like we did against Cardiff we'll get beat. Brentford are very capable of beating WBA.
Good Morning to Matt and co froma wet Bardsey We have only beaten Fulham once in 5 years so its about time we changed all this.I am not convinced on Scott Parker as a manager but they will be because of all the money they spent last season be in with a shout Brentford are the dark horses and I wouldn't be surprise if they drew at WBA
Morning all Will we beat Fulham today don’t honestly know what I do know is that this is a game we need to win 2 reasons 1) redemption after the Cardiff game 2) to maintain our push for promotion we need to be winning against the clubs around us to guarantee our auto promotion slot
Our record against them isn’t good. Our record in London is atrocious so I’m with you. Not sure why others are so confident of a win?
Fulham have lost three times against upper table sides. They appear to have a number of injuries. Will we show up today and take advantage. This game hinges on Bielsa and what he has learned about this league. I am hoping for no schoolboy errors in his use of subs. Can we not just see the game out. Will we win? I am not sure but would take a draw. Other teams can produce upsets in this crazy league and help us out. Though if bielsa gets it right today and bamford is on song we could smash them.
Last week really pegged us back, after smashing Boro then a couple of clear wins and going 3-0 I thought we had hit another gear. This week will show us whether that was a blip or a worrying trend. It could be a good thing that we have a terrible record in London, there shouldn't be any complacency. I don't want us to be fighting it out with anyone going in to the last few games. Let's hope we can get this done
