Van Dijk training, Wijlandum fit but probably benched. I assume we go full strength for this game and Leicester, then rotate for Wolves at home.
Agree...what would you make our full strength midfield given Fab’s absence? JK in big games has always gone more conservative and solid: Hendo, Milner, Keita? Or a bit more adventurous: Hendo, Keita, Ox? Or if he thinks that Wijnaldum is fit will he risk him? In which case it will be Hendo, Wini, Keita/Ox Back 4/front 3 picks itself but the midfield we have options.
I think Wijnaldum won't be risked until the Leicester game. Chamberlain was w@nk the other night, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Henderson, Milner and Keita for this game, then switch out Milner and Wijnaldum for the Leicester game.
I don’t think that Shaqiri works in our system tbh. Good player but needs everything coming through him....he looked lost last game.
Was a strange old line up to be fair, I think if you play the front 3 and have him as a roaming AM he will be very effective personally, and will interchange with Salah causing havoc.
Against weak teams, you may get away with it but our midfield is unsung in many ways....no real flair but industrial, tactical and reliable. I don’t see that in Shaq I’m afraid. I think he’ll be sold this summer, perhaps before.
I hope we do, its caused a fair bit of disruption, might as well make the effort to win the bloody thing.
