Just re-learned (isn't 6 Music great), the alleged best song of the 1980s never got to Number 1 in the charts as it was beaten to it by Joe Dolce's Shaddap You Face.

I had The Waterboys down as Irish, you are more than welcome to claim them. Eurythmics, Bronski Beat, Communards all based in England with English and Scottish members.
