I think anyone that did go to the game wont be back for a while.

But if they do see this, I am most interested in the performances of Elliot, Perch, Ferguson, Abeid and Benny.

    From listening to the commentary

Elliot - 6 Not too much he could do for the goals
Simpson - 7 Flukey goal and solid in normal time. Partially his fault for 3rd equaliser
Colo - 7 The love of my life but I was disappointed by his losing of possession a few times
Perch - 6.5 Better than usual
Ferguson - 6 Did his best but was outmuscled most of the time
Marveaux - 8.5 Had a great game. An assist and won a penalty. Looks very good
Guthrie - 6.5 good dtart but faded fast after Ben Arfa was taken off
Abeid - 6.5 solid debut, looked (sounded) comfortable
Gosling - 6 didn't hear much of him. Quiet game
Ben Arfa - 7 good return but no where near his best
Lover - 7.5 came to life after his goal and played well up til his substitution

    Shola - 5 Was Shola
    Sammy - 7 Was Sammy
    Obertan - 6 Disappointing

i'd agree with you from the radio, but from the very brief SSN highlights I'd drop Elliot down to a four, possibly five cause it didn't show any saves. Shouldn't have been beaten so easily and I'd like Harps back as our no 2.

umm well elliot should have done better on the second, obertan assisted collo's goal witha great far post cross and furguson was passing players and defended very well.

Probably my high expectations hindering him. i was hoping he was going to run at the tired forest defence a lot and rip them apart with his pace.

Agreed. I think a few too many are quick to get on Obertans back. Give the guy a break!! He didn't have a full pre-season with us, and is getting to know a new club/city, team mates and style of play. That and he's a confidence player, who clearly has had very little of it, while sitting on the bench at Man United. I really think we need to give the lad a chance to flourish, before we write him off so quickly.

I'd certainly take a 'dissappointing' performance that provides two assists, every day of the week!

Yeah I agree, thought people were harsh of his performance against Villa aswell, thought he was one of the better players on the day.

Ober wasn't bad actually. He was a bit non existent when he first came on, but made some nice little runs once he got into it, just couldn't get that final touch I don't think. He did have a decent chance to score though, fuming!! Under pressure I know, but arrgggh. Wouldn't be so harsh on him, worked hard at points. Then had to help out Fergie later on too, who was struggling.

Right then, just got back. Can't be arsed to do ratings so a rushed overview will do. Please excuse the poor quality, but it's late and bed is calling.

Defence was pretty shoddy to be honest. Colo was a ****ing rock but Perch looked shaky but made an amazing slide tackle in the centre circle. Simpson KEEPS BACKING OFF(!) and gave the ball away so much, only made up for it with the goal. Ferguson really isn't a left back, him up against Miller was one of the silliest things I've ever seen and it meant that he couldn't get forward, which is what he's good at.

Impressed by Marveaux and Abeid, considering it was his debut. Whack Sylvain in the first team in place of Jonas for a bit.
Gosling and Guthrie were fairly useful, but you wouldn't put either of them as first teamers based on their general play, i.e. sloppy passes, poor tackling etc.
Lovo was anonymous apart from the goals. But hey, that's what he's there for.
Shola didn't disappoint by constantly straying offside, fouling opponents and not winning headers.
Sammy - he's got some insane skillz and beats his man down the wing almost every time, but needs to work on delivery - very promising though.
Obertan - solid, good crosses and caused a right old fuss
Ben Arfa. You can tell he's special. When he gets the ball space just seems to open up before him. And if it doesn't he can beat several men with ease and his vision is incredible.

Overall, decent team performance and a good attitude to keep pressing for the goals. A really entertaining game. Put Marveaux and Hatem in the first team with a new killer striker in Jan and it'll be boss. It's just nice to see a team full of players with a great touch, skill, pace, passing and end product. We can actually break now.
