Good Morning. It's Thursday 19th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

Preston fans label Leeds a disgrace over ticket prices

Leeds have been labelled 'a disgrace' by Preston fans regarding ticket prices for the forthcoming boxing day fixture at Elland Road.

Visiting supporters are charged £37 ahead of matchday, rising to £42 on the day. Tickets for 16 to 22-year-olds were priced at £25, rising to £30.

Many Lilywhite fans took to social media announcing they would be boycotting the game due to what they saw to be premium prices.

Instead, the official Leeds Utd twitter page announced that due to Preston not selling their allocated tickets, the lower away section would be available for Leeds fans to purchase?

Those of you that attend match days, do you feel you get value for money?

What is the best value for money ground you have been to?

Would you pay £50+ to watch Leeds in the Premiership?

Jurgen Klopp “keen” for Brewster to join Leeds

Victor Orta is set to meet with Liverpool in the coming days to present their case to bring striker Rhian Brewster to Elland Road in January.

With the writing on the wall for Jack Clarke to return to North London in the next fortnight, Leeds will have one slot available, and Bielsa has identified the 19yo hitman as the final piece of the jigsaw going forward.

Leeds pundit Noel Whelan was quoted as saying :-

“There is obviously interest from Leeds in Brewster and I’m sure there are a queue of clubs wanting to take him,” “But Leeds have a good chance, definitely.

“A huge thing in Leeds’ favour is that Marcelo Bielsa is a great coach and Leeds play in a similar way to Liverpool – build out from the back, press from the front, high energy, smooth passing combinations and an aggressive playing style.

“That’s how Leeds signed Jack Harrison from Man City. Jurgen Klopp will be aware of that, and how Harrison has developed under Bielsa.

“Klopp will be keen for Brewster to join Leeds and learn under Bielsa. It’s probably in Klopp’s mind to send him to a team that play a similar style of football to Liverpool, and that’s where Leeds will fit the bill.

“The issue is how much game time he would have, as Patrick Bamford is the number one centre-forward at Leeds.”

Costa or Bowen - You decide?

Helder Costa did not have a particularly good start to his Elland Road career, but its fair to say the 25yo has worked hard to adapt to Bielsa's style of play, impressing Manager and fans alike in recent times and cementing his place in the starting line up!

Leeds have the option to buy the Portuguese International for 15m in the Summer, but could that money be better spent elsewhere?

Hull Winger Jarrod Bowen has set the Championship alight this season with 15 goals and 4 assists. The Tigers are resigned to losing their star asset and are believed to be looking for offers around the 15 - 18m mark!

Given the option, which player would you buy?

Mornin Elland and all. Sooner Clarke’s replaced the better. Anyone likely to be an improvement. He’s produced nothing in nearly a year. Why should away fans pay less than us anyway? Leeds home games are definitely good value. Small part of the expense for us distant travelling fans when you add in the cost of hotels taxis and flights

Really good daily threads you put up for your guys on here Elland, fair play to you. <applause>

They do tend to wander off subject as the day goes on, but that's fair enough - this is a just a chat forum for you all anyway and football is just part of it. <ok>

I've no intention of derailing it just now with some sort of comment about those "big club" ticket prices, but any more mentions of sheep could provoke a response. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Morning all, I agree with Eire on both why should away fans pay less and replacing Clarke. However, we’re being told Nketiah won’t be recalled yet we’re chasing another loanee striker?

Bowen v Costa - Blindly and on stats I’d have said Bowen. Watching Bowen against us and his last match for Hull on TV I’d say Costa. Maybe unfair as I’m judging him on only two games..

A young lad who plays bowls at our club Harry (17yo) who is a Hull season-ticket holder reckons Bowen is not up to premiership standard despite his goals tally for the Tigers over the last two seasons. Also he thinks 'ull want at least £20m for him which would be a high price to pay for him if he's not good enough for the prem!

I’d like it officially cleared up too, I’ve read we do and I’ve read only if promoted, I’ve also read we have an option either way.

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

wish Whelan would shut up because nothing happens unless Eddie goes or Clarke goes. We have a loan manager now who will know exactly whats going to happen and I hope that he has spoken to Spurs and Jose wants to send Clarke on loan elsewhere to give him game time. If that happens Brewster could be a good swap but Bielsa will not be dictated to by Klopp or anyone else on who he picks to start. Eire is correct about Clarke because he's been garbage for a year now and although he was fantastic the other night it was for the 23s

Ticket prices are a joke anyway but when Leeds can get that and fill the ground it actually means the club can charge whatever they want, even if its a joke at times. i would be in favour of stopping away fans at ER and accept not all clubs would like it but why cant we do it on our own. Not many clubs would want to reciprocate because they love our travelling fans money

My understanding of it at the time was that we officially agreed to sign him for 15 mill but because of FFP we wouldn't pay the fee this season. Therefore, although all officially signed and agreed, this year is a "loan".

I'm not saying I am 100% correct, that was just what I thought the clubs had agreed.

I'm sure there is a rule regarding away fan allocations Doc. Certainly is in the FA cup. There has to be in the EFL.

Just googled it and it's a minimum of 2000 allocated or 10% of ground capacity.

Preston fans have a point. £25 is plenty to watch Championship football, and it shouldnt be a lot more in the premiership, who's clubs gate revenue is a drop in the ocean compared to the Sky money etc they receive.

Bowen's record is very good, he didn't show a lot in our recent game against them, so hard to judge, but as Costa is up to speed with Bielsaball, then he would get the vote. But if we have real premier league aspirations why not both, it won't happen though.

I suppose that depends on what people's view of not good enough for the Peemiership is, top 6 is a different ball game to the rest of it. I thought Snodgrass and Wood would struggle, neither have set the world on fire, but both seem pretty much established there.

One thing that strikes me is our plan on replacing Bielsa. I mention this because it seems that Arteta is going to Arsenal, which means that Pep will be leaving City otherwise Arteta would have stayed with Pep. It seems City dont want Arteta to replace Pep because they dont want another Pep as there is only one Pep. This then follows that whoever is the next City manager will take the club in a different way. Is this a good idea?

so my question is which way will we go? i assumed Bielsa would get his replacement in place now and assumed Carlos Corberan would carry on giving us fantastic football in the Bielsa mould, just like hes done with the 23s. No more Warnock please.

    Morning Comrades and sheep lovers,

Costa is fine, Clarke has a way to go but if we get Bowen and keep the other two for 5 months as well as signing Brewster then what could go wrong?

Intriguing question Doc. Couple of factors will dictate next boss. Firstly, what division were in. Secondly who is owner at that time. If still in championship with radz doing the financing then Corberan a favourite. If in pl with say qsi at the helm it’s anybody’s guess who they’d recruit and subsequently what style of football we’d see
