It was out of order but if you can say to me honestly Leeds fans have never mocked Munich I will call you a liar.

Sadly its part of the game and it needs sorting out.

I didn't say that Leeds fans haven't made similar jibes, just saying that the Man U fans who scrabble for the moral high-ground and pretend Reds fans can't be ****s on their day too are liars and hypocrites. I know a couple like that to be fair: "'United' fans wouldn't go that low mate" etc.

99% of supporters of all teams, think any chants mocking a tragedy are disgusting, but sadly there is that other 1% that don't care. Worse yet, there probably always will be that 1%.

"The only black spot of the night from Man Utd, in fact, was the chanting by their supporters of songs referencing the night in Istanbul when two Leeds fans were killed in violent scenes - chants that did neither themselves nor their club any credit whatsoever."

Looks like Manure's new neighbours are starting to see them for who they are.....

Was totally out of order but as has already been said, every team has a handful of supporters who let their clubs down. I have been at Elland Rd in the middle of a few who started the Munich chant, the sad thing is it takes just a handful to get it going and then a pile of teens/kids join in because they haven't a clue what it is all about and they think it is funny. Hopefully the cameras will pick the ring leaders out and act, same as I hope those that sing the munich chant are dealt with if it happens again at Elland Rd

I'm going to condone or justify the above but will say it was most probably born out from decades of abuse from Leeds fans, not all but a large majority of them, in relation to the Munich disaster. I won't be specific, as I had thought that this nonsence had subsided over the years, but as another poster on this thread ponted out the "1%" will never go away.

I will say from my experience's Leeds HATE Manchester United more than both Liverpool & City, and they have most certainly shown it over the years, or though as I have already said this has waned

Banter is banter, but flags like the above do not do United(M'cr) or their fans any favours at all, just fans the fire, and give any monkey from both sides out there a reason to be act like scum. We do not need these people.

What did make me chuckle was Leeds fans singing "We support our local team"

I wonder if HighlandWhite, TokyoWhite, CheshireWhite, DublinWhite, OsloWhite, Bucks, LeedsinEssex, NorwayWhite, GermanWhite, etc etc took part in that classic <laugh>

We may not have won the match, but we're 2.66 times better than Arsenal & can claim the moral high ground over ManUre fans regarding some inappropriate chanting (assuming we didn't make any noisy references to Munich)

Tunn, me thinks you may have missed a NOT at the start of your post. Question though given the anticipation of the game by local plod, how the hell did ManUre get that banner into the ground in the first place? It was only a flag I know, despite being in seriously poor taste. But if fans can get that into a ground, what about flares... or worse?

There were Munich references. I don't see why either side has any right to claim any moral high ground. Leeds fans have been offensive; scum fans have been offensive and so have the fans of every club. That's just how many football fans work.

They did light up a flare, the idiots. Bet they think they're right little 'ultras' with their smokey red rubbish. They probably just hid the banner up someone's shirt or something, or brought a backpack in undetected.
