Yes, he does. The point has been made several times though and I suspect ones view of a possible future depends where one is looking from. I enjoyed the more rumbustious, sometimes offensive, disorganised, witty, forum we had before. There is angst and passion now but it is different somehow. It appears more serious and meant to hurt rather than just wind the other party up, or perhaps that's just me. Glory did irritate me at times with his negative view of the team/club. Unfortunately these views weren't always wrong and infuriatingly quite often right and that in itself annoyed me all the more, being a born again optimist. If the powers that be wanted to un-ban him I'm sure they could but would he actually want to come back? In my opinion though it would be worthwhile extending the olive branch from both sides to see if peace could break out. He's always going to cause chaos though, but so what, that was the fun of having him around, you never new what was going to happen next.
Agreed and one further point. It was suggested wat back that his participation was preventing many others from joining up or posting. That proved to be a load of bull as there’s probably less contributors now than when he was around
I think and I could be wrong, that the ban could have been lifted, but it was the fact that he reported the site for illegal match streams that delayed any chance of a quick return. Banter was one thing, but personal attacks on members weren't IMO. Now in saying that I've never had a problem with him coming back, but this site is called Not606 it's not about one former member. IMO if any person doesn't like the site well then don't comment or just leave. I'm just playing devils advocate.
More/less it's debatable and I'm not sad enough to go back and count. I don't know the full history and I honestly don't want to but if he actually was interested in joining in again I for one would welcome the old bugger back and then regret doing it the very next day, but what's wrong with that?
Good morning all Interesting subject is our Glory loved to have banter with him could get a bit personal at times but in my view it was only personal if you let it I would like to see glory back just to see who in addition to myself would go out of their way to wind him up I just think it a shame we can’t have a go at him when the team is doing so well After all Glory Knows F**k All or GKFA maybe Eric can insert this into a logo he seems to have plenty of time on his hands
Glory is very active on Twitter, a lot of tweets are directed to Ellandback, the content of the messages he sends leaves us in no doubt he won’t be making a return here anytime soon. Before Glory left, we nearly all had one thing in common, we hated the owners, we knew we were not going to get promoted, we all dreamed of a new owner who’d give us a chance. This progressed to Rads and the jury was out, again lots of debate was he good or bad, does he have money or not, should we sack Orta. We were in a better place and it was slowly changing, we had believers and non believers. Then Glory departed and in came Bielsa, now we’re all virtually on the same page, Bielsa is the best thing to happen at ER in the last 15+ years? Promotion is no longer a pipe dream, it’s within our grasp, we’re all a bit tense, I personally believe the way the debates have changed from 90% being witty and rumbustious to more serious at times is down to developments at the club. Just my opinion though There are actually more contributors and more members, less posts I agree but that’s down to the vast amount Glory posted and the amount of his posts that required a reply or generated a reply.
My personal opinion... he could be witty and astute and I agreed with plenty if what he posted. The obsession and domination of the forum though? Some people get like that on forums... I found it a bit needy myself. Forums attract people who ‘won’t let it go’, so when the spats occurred, whoever was to blame, they weren’t just spats, they had to get blown up into some soap opera drama with mods, super mods, hyper mods, galactic mods involved... I’m leaving, I’m back. I mean really....playground stuff. I largely stopped posting (so there would be a good reason to bring him back!) because you could barely talk football or have normal banter sometimes. I hear he’s a great guy in the flesh but we all know the internet persona would be rinse and repeat if he came back. I guess some like it some don’t. Some think the site has regressed some don’t. There are others who left in the wake of glorygate that the site actually misses more in my view. But I genuinely wouldn’t mind either way if he was on here... it’s not that important, really is it? We all vote with our login... sites are just a sum of the contributors and that inevitably changes over time.. As far as I’m concerned the site/mods make the calls, if others don’t like it by all means state why, and then leave if you want. No point in complaining it’s not a cooperative, there’s no shortage of alternatives.
Not doubting you but can you give specifics on how many extra posters we have. We lost some at that time too. I mean active posters btw not just ones that pop in once in a blue moon for a match day thread or whatever
No, that's not quite right (I did have other words in their but only the select get away with being offensive). I think we're doing OK but then even when we aren't I do, There is nothing wrong with having a lively discussion about an alternate opinion, and that is all it was. Go on un-ban him what have you got to lose? {PS he didn't leave he was banned.}
