Limited Exhibition who landed Paul Nolan a grade one on Sunday beating Andy Dufrense is being moved to Willie Mullins barn. How can small trainers move up the ladder when this regularly happens on both sides of the water
newbury,3 00: well, there are some very well treated rivals in this, but most of these are past their best and or have no real form at present.not so DEFI SACRE,who is still very unexposed over fences, brings fresh winning form to the table(albeit in a weaker contest),and can go well again today, off last weeks mark..
ludlow,3 40: its a bit of a shot in the dark, but PISGAH PIKE could go well here.hasnt set the world alight so far,but his last form over in ireland has worked out not badly, and it will be interesting, what jamie snowden can do with him.STD also a good booking too..not dismissed lightly..
Interesting race at Dundalk tonight (19.30) Starting point is obviously Dark Vader who had run well in his 3 races, where the winners have all performed very well at G1 level, before stepping up in trip to win comfortably over this course. Steps up a furlong to 1 mile this evening Then you look at the more lightly raced Karbasann who improved on his fine debut when stepping up to a mile at this course So he is proven over course and distance. The interesting thing for me is that Karbasann took only 10.43 secs longer than Dark Vader to travel the extra furlong. If I have done my sums right, I make it that Dark Vader averaged 14.05 secs over the 7fur whilst Karbasann averaged 12.36 seconds over the 8f. Same track, same weight. Karbasann.s race was 22 Nov and Dark Vader's was 29 Nov. One would have thought that, after only 2 races, Karbasann should have the more improvement (even though 1 month older). Just one further point, Karbasann receives 5lb from Dark Vader I reckon Karbasann should be able to beat the fav tonight and at 5/2 looks the better value of the 2 Flies in the ointment. Joseph O'Brien has a second string, the one raced Choice Of Mine, who was a close 4th on debut, Stinglikeabee who was not far behind Karbasann depite being bumped last time out and Ocean Monarch who, on time, is not far behind Karbasann Minor dabble, for interest only, on Karbasann at 5/2
My only real success today was Mahler's Promise. I got on it at 100/1 this morning. Wish I'd had more than 25p e/w on it though. As soon as I can work out how to do a screen shot of the bet, proof will be posted.
Managed it Why oh why was I a tight git and didn't do £1 e/w? Still, at least it's paid for a few birthday drinks tonight for me
Oh well. Got 2 things right. Karbasann did beat the fav. And, of course, Joseph O'Brien's second string beat his first string (surprise surprise), proving to be the fly in the ointment
Nonsensical. Totally agree that this is an awful decision by the owners. I wonder what the catalyst was. Did the owner get tapped up by Willie or his crew after the Dufrense defeat or vice versa. You wouldn't want to be the stable cat in the Nolan yard.
Thank you all very much. At the time of writing there were still at least three bookies that paid 50/1 (PP, Betfair and I think Sky) but was 1/5 the place. Up in trip I think was the key to the horse. Christmas came a few days ahead. I think I'll do something to Cheltenham of that nonsense of mine.
