Boufal ings djenepo Armstrong Romeu JWP Bertrand Danso Bednarek Valery McCarthy We haven't tried Danso in his actual position. Worth a go, surely? I'd drop redmond, cedric and PEH as they have been terrible. Not that their replacements will do any better.
I like that team a lot if all are 100% fit. plenty of goal threat balanced with Oriol anchoring the midfield and Yan offers more going forward too. No silly playing across and from the back please though Ralph we just haven't got the quality and causes more problems than it is worth. Would like to see a couple of Academy lads on the bench too, Slattery in particular.
I was a bit disappointed against WHU when Ralph rightly subbed an out of form Redmond, but brought Romeu on at 0-1 down, and left Armstrong on the bench. I don`t get it.
I actually agreed with that at the time as we were getting murdered in midfield. To wait until the 80th odd minute to make any real attacking changes was what I was disappointed with though.
There was a lot of talk about this move around where I sit too AS. Surprisingly, it had a positive effect both defensively and in attack. Romeu ran the ball forwards whenever possible, it opened up gaps and we looked better for it. I had thought previously that Romeu had been off form but things definately improved after he came on (it couldn't have got much worse to be honest). Like No7 said, changes could have been made a bit earlier though, there were plenty of candidates for subbing. I don't think Armstrong gets a fair deal, he always looks positive, has got some pace, scores goals and most importantly makes himself available. He may not be world class but he's better than those who are getting regular starts and he should be getting more match time IMO.
Just seen that they play Watford and Norwich immediately after us so will have a great chance of putting some daylight between us should they win Saturday.
wow ! yes so i think was last home game and saints needed to win to ensure we remained a premier league team i remember it being a sunny afternoon and a great peformance and being in the milton end i think the villa fans came onthe pitch and at the end and broke the cross bar
