First it was remoaners not wanting to accept a democratic referendum... clutching desperately at every loophole in the hope the decision will be reversed...

... now it’s the rapidly decreasing circle of extreme far left apologists who desperately defend Corbyn claiming they won ‘the debate’.. at the general election.... despite the once great party getting utterly destroyed in the worst result since 1935.

it’s like some of the football managers in the past who’s team gets hammered but then they trot out the week won the possession’ excuse.

What is it with modern society where folk who are on the losing end of something find it impossible to simply accept a result and move on?

it never used to be like this ‘back in the day’..

hopefully Boris can start to inject some respect and understanding back into society as we enter the 2020’s....

    peace out.

every meaningful vote shows that these left wingers are in the massive minority and have absolutely no impact on society. I welcome their explosions of rage and stuff, especially the protesting in London following the election. It will only make the North feel alienated further, and will result in further Conservative victories.

Honestly, scrap the Lib Dems and scrap Labour, their time is done, we need a new opposition party.

This is the same as the bitch from over Hadrians wall
Despite her people voting to remain within the union she will stamp her feet until she gets her way
    That's not democratic

that woman boils my piss. Both sides agreed it would be a once in a generation vote... yet cos they didn’t get the right result she wants to do it again.

the level of noise from her suggests they may be trying to distract from the big court case featuring Alex Salmond as apparently lots of SNP skeletons will soon come out of the closet...

Andrew Neil took her to the cleaners recently over her poor record on hospitals, drug abuse and crime... she had no comeback as they are a one issue party...

The SNP get a lot of unionist voters during elections, both Scottish parliament and Westminster, because they are a centrist party and that's actually very popular in Scotland. But, as with the referendum, and all polls regarding Scottish independence it is still a minority point of view.

As it stands, I'm not a unionist, at all. I believe and have always viewed England and Wales as a singular country (even if it angers the idiots living in the valleys,) and I believe the union with Scotland directly contributes to the over centralisation of London.

First of all, any proposed big money investments in Northern England and Wales is almost universally challenged by Scots who claim that England receives all the attention nationwide. Scotland pays (and runs a giant deficit) for a large welfare state which neither England nor Wales can challenge because that would be anti-jock, Scotland and England are politically incompatible, while England and Wales both voted for Brexit and both saw massive gains for the Conservatives.

We don't need a political union, we can simply have 3 British nations: England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland. We can have a Nordic style alliance with one another which covers joint defence, open trade borders, and international cooperation as we three countries (unlike the European Union) have very aligned cultures and it makes sense. The North of England will still benefit from Scotland under this system, Southern Scotland will still benefit from England, Ireland will still benefit from all of Britain, England can focus on investing money in key areas around the country and parliament can be shrunk granting far more voices to people in marginal areas.

Scottish independence is a good idea and should be supported.

The one metric about the election you need to know is that Consett is tory. I never thought I'd see that.
That means that Labour is officially horrendously damaged goods.

We all need to get on with it.

I know mate. I’ve been telling Pidcock she’s in the job line for weeks as all my labour mates switched. Don’t forget in Consett we have a lot of middle class Tory commuters now too as all them houses at Templetown and the heaps have attracted new residents from the Toon.

    It's got its plus points:-
House prices in 2001 sucked me in.
There are few traffic jams between us and Gateshead where I work, certainly early in the day.
Semi rural - cycle paths and dog walking paths.
    It'll never flood.
And the crime rate is low.

I feel for her. Thought that was a good MP. I think she spent too much time near Corbyn though.
Although Templetown is my home I didn't lend my vote to Boris mind, tempting as it was.

Towns like Blyth and Consett may have played a blinder. I'm thinking investment here, it can't have done their chances any harm by electing Tory MPs. As for Scotland and Northern Ireland, the clamour for independence will only grow stronger. The future of the United Kingdom is up for grabs, no doubt about it.
