what i tire of is that GC is that 'general' but if its not to certain people's liking they hijack the thread and it becomes personal. I can understand some people doing it as they think they are being clever, mods is a different issue for me

I don't mind the pictures if they hidden with the NSFW because then I can choose to look at them or not.

 

Mainly threads like that are closed because - there is a thread or 2 like that every day or because it turns into tit-for-tat about the Provos did this, Brits did that until its not really a debate but a boring slanging match.

To be fair to Mick he must have folk complaining about certain subjects being debated & has stood his ground on them being allowed to stay on the board but will close them once the discussion has run its course.

I see from that thread you were in a real debate rather than name calling bullshit so why don't you create a new thread based on what you want to say now to discuss it further?

 

the type of conversation on here doesnt really bother me, you chose which threads to comment on, and which ones to avoid, thats ok.

if someone starts a thread on lesbians (as was done) i can understand it and i choose to read or not

but when someone disagrees with you on a thread about war or something then proceeds to post pictures and write abuse without a response to the actual discussion. and tbh i dont see too many of those threads closing.

I am not a prude, neither is this about responses to me. I see it all the time. certain people have issues with certain others and proceed to ruin it
As i said with your average poster i could understand it, but mods? that is ridiculous
