To be honest I joined this forum after also looking at SaintsWeb and the The Ugly Inside. I quickly realised that I wasn't cut out for forums full of rabid dogs and loonies so I came here. It has fast become a really fun and interesting place to be and even though I haven't met anyone in person, I feel I have got a real affinity with some of you guys. Yes there have been spats, cross words and open squabbles but that is just part of life. No one has been vicious to other members and even with strong opposing views on politics there has been a strong sense of camaraderie. Politics and political discussions do get heated. Just look at the House Of Commons with people shouting at each other, accusing each other and generally standing up for what they believe in. What is not acceptable is that one person should take it upon themselves to remove the status of others because he feels they are a threat to his power base. Nor should any individual tread all over the views of others because they don't fit his narrative. That is what Boris Johnson did to fellow MP's and he was universally condemned for it. This forum has changed drastically in the last 24hrs and in many ways it mirrors the election. It is a much poorer place for what has happened and I feel incredibly sad about it. If people are left to disagree, argue and maybe even fall out for a time, something usually happens to correct it all and things come back into alignment and people make up, have a laugh and move on. The worse thing anyone can do is to impose a sort of martial law and stifle it. Let people work it out themselves because they make a better job of it. Sorry, but I just don't agree with the moderation decisions that have been made but I am obviously bound by them if I choose to stay here.
I'm always happy to read PM's, I can't always promise an immediate response. Personally, I think you and Beddytare would be better to have that discussion. Sometimes the simplest solutions is the hardest thing to do. By that sometimes we have to swallow a little pride and concede in a debate, because what I ask is a politics thread really worth it, jeez bro. Then give Beddytare time to reflect without people pressurising him. After all the election is done now, nowt is going to change that. Hopefully @Beddytare will also read this and take on the same points likewise. You are grown men, come on guys sort it privately

Yeah fair enough mate I do get all of that, people are bound to want an explanation though as the 2 mods in question are popular and the board is one of the better ones in that respect on here anyway. I do take your point on giving him a bit of space mind, though I appear to have to come to this pretty late anyway. Bet you never never thought it'd be the good old Saints board you'd have to worry about on election night
The only thing I will add is I dont think its right that 1 mod from any board can strip another mod on that same board of their status.

Yeah i get that mate. Hopefully it all gets sorted and things go back to being normal and quiet on here. Although it has been good entertainment for a Friday at work.
Having enjoyed reading the thoughts and opinions of both beddy and chilcs on here for years and having met both in person I would be proud to call them friends. I have no idea what has gone on and I don't need or want to know. Firstly and foremost, we come on here as we have one common interest, the love of Southampton football club. It's interesting to hear views on music, politics, cricket, culture etc but it's football that unites us. I believe this is one of the better forums and that is down to the people that post on here. We stand stronger together We March on.
