Liverpool welcome Watford to Anfield this Saturday as the Reds look to retain their seemingly unassailable lead at the top of the Premier League table.
Jurgen Klopp's men have been victorious in all bar one of their top-flight fixtures this term, with a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford their only blip in 2019/20. They've also enjoyed success on the continent, and booked their place in the Champions League knockout stages on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win at Red Bull Salzburg.

Klopp lost another centre-back to injury during the midweek victory in Austria, with Dejan Lovren injuring his thigh. He and Joel Matip will miss the game on Saturday, though they are both due to make a full recovery before the end of January.
Midfielder Adam Lallana has an outside chance of being fit for the Hornets match, though long-term absentee Nathaniel Clyne is still several months away from a return to the field, having torn knee ligaments in pre-season.

New Watford boss Pearson could have as many as six first-team players unavailable for the trip to Anfield.

Jose Holebas, Sebastian Prodl, Danny Welbeck, and Tom Cleverley are still undergoing rehab for injuries sustained earlier in the campaign, while defensive pairing Daryl Janmaat and Craig Dawson will face late fitness tests ahead of the weekend's action.

The Dutchman has a bruised knee, and is expected to sit out the meeting with the Reds, though Dawson could be ready after he was cut above the eye socket during the recent 3-0 loss at home to Burnley.

Sadio Mane is one of the players currently driving Liverpool to top-flight glory, and the Senegalese was in the mood when he last took on Watford, scoring a delightful back-heel as he hit a double at Anfield.

Divock Origi made it three just after the hour when he rifled a low effort in at the near-post, before two towering headers from Virgil van Dijk added some gloss to the Reds' 23rd victory over Watford in their history.

The Merseysiders have lost to the Hornets on only four occasions, while there have been five draws between the teams.

Hopefully we can focus back on what unites us in this group...
There is a very slim chance that we can come good tomorrow.. A shot goes in, a fluke pass etcetera.
We have to believe that someone has to turn over Liverpool this season... It can be us... COYH!

Nigel Pearson revealed Craig Dawson will be available for his first match in charge of the Hornets, while there will be late checks on other players before Saturday’s trip to Anfield.

“We’ve got one or two players that we’ll have a look at tomorrow to see if they’ll be available over the weekend,” he said. “Dawson has trained this week and is available.”

Roberto Pereyra will be touch and go, revealed the new Head Coach, while Pearson is also keeping an eye on his left-back situation.

“Pereyra, who played last week, we’ll look at tomorrow. Holebas will not be available and we’ll review Masina again in the morning,” he said.

The Head Coach also updated on the longer-term injuries as rehab continues at London Colney.

“Of our long-termers, Danny Welbeck is making good progress and Tom Cleverley is making good progress too,” said Pearson.

“We’ve had one or two long-term injuries which are making good progress, and then we’ve got the normal situation with players who have played and taken part and we’ll monitor and make a decision tomorrow.”

A 1.30 am k.o. for me is usually manageable but I'm not sure I should bother with this one!

Mariappa at right back is an interesting choice when Foulquier is available.
