You know what, I am just watching the news and I don't think I have ever disliked a Tory leader so much.

I could even see Thatcher's plus points, once I step back form the carnage and hardship (with hindsight now - I turned 18 in 1987) that she caused.

I cannot see how any sane, decent person could place a vote for that buffoon, no matter what you think of Jeremy Corbyn.

I believe there is technology coming/already here that can identify particular plastics and separate them. Look it up as I'm not 100% sure of my ground here. But this might be technology that solves the problem.

Notice, fewer/no people involved? Automation is getting everywhere. Going to need a Universal Basic Income soon.

I was chatting to a friend who works in cyber security yesterday (yes, I haz fancy friends) and he pointed out Facebook and Twitter could very easily remove all bots - cutting the power of Russia and others to manipulate the system, but he felt the bots bloat the user numbers and removing them could drastically reduce the value of each company.

    What a world.

Apologies if this has been shown before, but following the earlier hospital debate, maybe worth a look.

Well said Beddy. Have disagreed with almost all that you have posted in the last few days, but would defend your right to write it and I like your tenacity.. Certainly greater than Cedric's... Sorry if that is being damned with feint praise.

Politics does divide people, and they always say do not talk politics at dinner parties etc.

What I will say is that although we are united by our support (well some of us) by Saints FC, we are clearly very divided (as expected) by politics. We all have different backgrounds and reasons for the way we are, but in the main this forum has been pretty civil throughout very, very, challenging times. The odd spat, but I think we are still one big happy Not606 family.

    Long may it continue

PS I do love a bit of 'Mod Wars' though :)

It is better St.B. They could put more in the truck, but I bet the carbon footprint is better as it is less weight being transported, but that’s a presumption from me.

They are not creating waste plastic, they are making it easy to recycle. Ask one of your bosses what happens to the bales, just to make sure. They should be selling it to recyclers.

Some of my customers have contracts with supermarkets to collect these and re-work them back into the supply chain. This makes single use plastic, multi-use and increase their value to the environment over alternative materials.

You’re sort of right here TSS. What they are doing probably means it doesn’t need to go through the sorting plant.... maybe.

They have been, though people often overstate it. The polls in 2017 were damned good; if you compare the average vote share from the last ten polls prior to the election to the actual result, they were extremely accurate. Where polling tends to fail in multi-party setups is that pollsters put their thumbs on the scale...not out of bias, but because they interpret a result that differs from the mean as an outlier, and adjust their weighting to bring it more in line with other polls. Because strategic voting is common, pollsters acting in this fashion causes clustering that can miss actual swings in the late stages.

But we're talking way, way out here. Historic, years-long inquest in the polling world out, because most of the strategic vote is already baked in with Labour's uptick. It would mean a vast miscalculation of the Tories' strength and a major surge in Labour votes to give them a shot at having the most seats, which is why the bookmakers' odds on a Labour plurality are awfully long.

Liar Poisonberg passing comment on the postal votes, suggesting that it is not good for Labour, but then given that the majority of people who use postal votes are the elderly, who also form the largest support group of the Tories, I wouldn’t expect it to be any different.
The question that needs to be asked, though, is how does she know and is she breaking the rules/law by referencing it. I believe Raab did similar a few days ago.

"Proof" supplied by that well known unbiased broadcaster C4. It wasn't too long ago that Chilco said in reply to someone who quoted the Mail "It's from the Mail, so it's bollocks".
I won't though, dismiss your point as bollocks. Instead I will show you articles (also in black and white) which give an alternative view, I urge you to read it all, whether you believe it or not is up to you.
There is very little evidence to suggest that Corbyn met with both sides of the conflict in his so called role as "peacemaker" but he did meet up with Sinn Fein quite a lot. "According to The Sunday Times, Corbyn was involved in over 72 events connected with Sinn Féin or other pro-republican groups during the period of the IRA's paramilitary campaign" Sourced from wikipedia on Jeremy Corbyn. Wiki also gives a full bio and his other Foreign Affairs interests.

There are many articles out there for and against Corbyn, decide for yourself. I'm not telling you what to think, I'm telling you what I believe to be true.
