Thanks for the post, but forgive me if I don’t become involved in a protracted debate on the relative merits or faults of Jeremy Corbyn. As many on here have already said, it should not be about leadership personalities. It should be about the policies, the future of a crumbling NHS, a broken society and a fast approaching environmental disaster, and that is what conversations or debates need to concentrate on. I do agree in this age of so called ‘influencers’, the leader of a party does play a very significant part, but if that is main factor deciding how a person votes, the country is in very deep trouble. I sense that many on here are feeling worn down by years of political wrangling, and we really don’t need to add to it. Squabbling over who is the best leader doesn’t do any good at all and I am not up for doing that. You and I may well see things very differently politically, but that is life. My hope for the next 48hrs is there are more people deciding to vote for the things that matter for everyone in society, than there are voting for just a personality or for selfish reasons.
With apologies to Oleta Adams, a little ditty I penned over breakfast: You can stop him by SNP, You can stop him by Plaid Cymri, I don't care how you stop him, Just stop him how you can. You can stop him with an Irish vote, Sin Fein or Alliance can give you hope, Ms. Sturgeon can give a kick, To that blond lying prick, Just stop him anyway. Put your cross in any box, As long as it's not Liam Fox, Go out and make a power grab, Kick out the Liar Raab, Just f*** his Brexit deal. Vote tactically to make sure we get shot, Of this lying Tory lot, It doesn't matter how it's done, Just vote for anyone, To kick Pffefel up his fat bum, On this Election Day. If anyone want to repost on social media feel free, I'm not a member.
Here's another tired and worn out post A man with a beard walks into a bar............oops I'd better run this past Momentum first.
Boris Piccaninny Watermelon Letterbox Cake Bumboys Haircut Bullshit Inconclusive-Cocaine-Event Wall-Spaffer Johnson VS Jeremy honest, decent. legal and truthful man with a beard Corbyn.
He wasn’t telling you Boris is good. He was pointing out that it seems ok to give one stick/jokes/banter/truthstories and not the other.
Exactly. Personally I feel that even if a minority Labour government is only able to fulfil 25% of their manifesto pledges in the first 5 years we will, all of us, be a million times better off than if the Spaffer gets a majority. I honestly don’t care if Corbyn, Starmer, Long-Bailey, Rayner, or Jess Phillips is leader, as long as the same manifesto commitments are in place to repair the NHS, come up with a way out of the Brexit ****storm that the great majority of us can live with, and simultaneously nail down climate change and regenerate industry in a sustainable way. In an ideal world, a Prime Minister is not a set of white teeth on a magazine cover or a bumbling clown, but a servant of the people, someone who listens to ordinary people’s concerns and steers the country in the right direction. In the short term, it’s Corbyn for the job. Everybody should suck it up and do the right thing for themselves and everyone else.
Oh really? Thanks for the tip, I've changed the colours on my reply should have done that first time round and not been so subtle.
I agree with you about a long protracted debate, but what I will say is you and I are not very different politically. Given the way things have gone in the last ten years, this should be a nailed on victory for Labour but it probably won't be. In my view this is because Corbyn is at the helm and it would be a seriously missed opportunity. It's not about Corbyn's personality or the way he looks, it's about his stance on issues such as the IRA and for me they are unforgivable. This is my personal view but I would guess it's shared by quite a few erstwhile Labour voters. To me it's not a trivial issue, it's seriously important. The thought of him in No10 fills me with dread. I don't normally discuss who I vote for but this one time I can tell you I won't be voting Labour or anyone else for that matter. It's a vote lost.
Go on then, you obviously know a lot about it. What was it about Corbyn’s stance on the IRA that is so unforgivable?
Oh dear oh Dear....someone else has a different view to you is there.............You need to ease off a bit mate you are going a bit over the top re Corbyn...........Other people are entitled to a different view mate....Its not worth keep getting hot under the collar about it................Either way the people will decide............IMO you are doing no favours to the Labour Party.....but that's just my opinion.
I wasn’t talking to you. Nor was I hot under the collar, it was a perfectly civil question. Honestly Beddy, if anyone on this forum has gone over the top in the last few days it’s yourself.
I've already written a long and detailed post (#22815) yesterday. I recommend you to have a look, it's very good. There is plenty of info on the net but if you choose not to agree with it that's your perogative. I do agree with it and that's my perogative. If people don't like opposing views to their own that's too bad, the other party leaders get the treatment and that's a good thing but it doesn't mean that Corbyn is exempt. Anyway I'm just going to take the dog out for a walk . I've enjoyed our little chat this morning, will try to drop in again this afternoon to see if any of you have seen sense.
On that mate we'll have to agree to disagree..............If you post on here you are talking to us all.
