This has now become a 6 pointer, and a must win game after Saturday’s affront. Huddersfield are likely to be around us in the table all season. I watched some of their game on Saturday, and they are not very good. KAG returns to the Valley, as does Mark Hudson. Even a scrappy 1-0 win will do, but we are getting to the stage now where we need to arrest this staggering slump in form. Home fans will get their first view of Ledley. The likes of Purrington and Leko will be very lucky if they keep their places after Boro. *Relevant, match related comments only on this particular thread pls *
I think we will win this one. Can't say exactly why, just got the feeling. This will be the first midweek evening game I have been to at the Valley for quite a while. In recent times, the bother of taking time off work and driving across from West London as the evening rush hour begins to get going was just too much, when my enthusiasm had faded badly. But the news of the take-over has inspired me afresh. Very much looking forward to being there tomorrow evening. I think it might be a feisty game, with our players well aware of the need for a result and getting stuck in to achieve one. Going to predict a 2-1 or 3-2 win Unfortunately my prediction for last weekend (a 1-0 defeat) turned out to be right. I hardly ever get the result and the score.
What will the attendance be tomorrow night.l ? Sadly I cannot make it, I have a country to save from Corbyn. I reckon 14,000.
13,000 /14,000. Hoping for a scrappy win. No Cullen = a lack of fluidity, so 3 points is all that matters.
That's a good reason Hope you can make Friday's game, assuming the job is done and you've not been celebrating to excess...
I will definitely be at the Hull game. I think we need a minimum of 4 points this week from Hull & Huddersfield.
Don't bet on it. And I mean that literally. It's jolly bad form betting against your own team. Not cricket at all.
Likely line up tonight - Phillips Solly Purrington Lockyer Pearce Oshilaja Pratley Ledley Doughty Morgan Bonne
Didn't Ledley have a mare on Saturday? Leko seems a better bet. Bowyer wants to give Taylor another 45 minutes, the question is, which 45?
Strange isn't it. I don't recall thousands of Charlton fans heartily singing "Karel Fraeye's Red Army" after nine games without a win. Bowyer will turn it around with some backing in January and some players coming back
Don't remember Fraeye struggling with the injuries that Bowyer has had to contend with. But gven how odd his management was, it would have made little difference to thesort of results he got. The difference is we know from experience that if Bowyer is give the players he wants, he can do great things. As for tonight, it's going to be another battle. Sadly we have had a run of winnable games at a point where we are reduced to fielding an U23 team. At some point we are going to get players back, but we need to get a win before then to give morale a boost. Tonight is winnable, and I'm sure the Hudds forum's are alive with their fans saying the same thing. I actually think we can win this, but it would be a help if the defence can return to their battling best from the start of the season.
Very disappointed to hear today that the superb new crowd surfing flag has gone, and the reasons why. I know the fan who made it, it cost him a lot of time & money. We really have got some pricks following this club.
