He had an ankle injury before did he not. I'd have thought that if his ankle had gone then you could blame Bruce, but hammy is just unfortunate
bruce is doing well, but we will find out over the full season and next whether he's capable. I'm not having this short term comparison nonsense at all.. I have a feeling once he's made the side his , playing his way , ran our best players into the ground and had a few player falls out etc that these people licking his arse will realise they were too quick to start saying he's done better than the rafa.. I don't care what anyone says he risked max the last two games and he's made a huge error.
Shhh! I'd suggest our more defensive midfielder should be making a few fouls during a game and while he did he made 2 fouls during the game, Shelvey made 3.... He also - won the most aerial duels bar Joelinton and Carroll - and 2 more than any defender, WON more fouls than anyone else bar ASM, 3rd best passing % excluding the 3 cb's who were unopposed and all of them wiped the floor in this regard, was dribbled past a total of ZERO times. Ran his socks off for 90 mins and was still sprinting at the final whistle to close balls down and try to get forwards. I'd love to see how much distance he has covered this season considering we don't really play through the midfield. Some will say stat's don't matter but for me it shows he busts his ass for us. What he does is not fancy, it isn't pretty, a LOT of it goes unnoticed but he does fantastically well for us every week he steps on to the pitch and I think without him in the XI we would be a lot more open than we are - across the course of the season he has better defensive contribution that Longstaff and Shelvey in EVERY category and in some cases better than the two of them put together.. Since coming back from suspension we've Played 6 Lost 1, Drawn 1 and Won 4 so hardly worth dropping him at present.
I agree on hayden he really puts a shift in and does the dirty work .. While he's not world beater we need him unless we get something better and that would money we haven't got because we spend the clubs overdraft on joelinton
There’s a huge rabbit away with his transfer. Benitez didn’t want him and he was signed the day after Bruce got the job. £40m??? He’s not worth a quarter of that. Something stinks about the whole saga.
That seems like the obvious solution if Max is injured. If Joelinton is more suited out wide then put him there and play Carroll. The fact it seems so obvious would suggest it won't happen
Is there any info on ASM's injury? Defo hamstring or thigh muscle? I've a feeling that he may be prone to these things unless he's managed carefully.
bruce confirmed its his hamstring and he left on crutches saying its a bad one ,, a bad hamstring tear can be 6 to 8 weeks … a small tear usually around 4 huge blow if he was fit we could have looked up the table , but without I fear we will return to as we were before his introduction earlier in the season.
