you know for a fact this is being quoted later down the line. I'm very happy he's doing well, I think he's a good fit for the club and after the the poor criticism he received when he got the job it's justice that it's gone this way.
Genuinely hope he keeps it up. Maybe something in the correlation between the managers understanding of the fans/region, and the success on the pitch. KK/SBR/Rafa/Hughton vs Sham/Gullit/Dalglish/Kinnear.
I think because we are soooooo defensive teams get impatient and basically plays into our hands. its boring to watch though.
I like it more than passing around aimlessly until the opposition builds the great wall of china... it makes it exciting if you ask me it's always tense
its worth saying rafa built very good foundations at this club and we have the best defence we have ever had in my life if not ever .
I hate this line. We were barreling towards the bottom three, when he had his heart attack we hadn't won a game in weeks and it was only through Chrissy Hughton taking over as caretaker that we actually managed a win. I still think we would have gone down, and I think us going down, even with knowing what's happened since was the right thing for the club. We needed to shift the deadwood.
The fact is when you shell out the money we were paying for Rafa Benitez, you would expect him to build something within three years. Even with mediocre transfer budgets. The next manager deserves recognition for utilising that system properly, so many new managers blast onto the scene and rip everything to shreds to try and impress the fans. I think just keeping the system and instilling some enjoyment back into the squad is working better than Rafa's regimented approach.
really ? its the team rafa left to be compared not the one this time last year. the team rafa left was the 7th best from jan until may … theres no point comparing anything anyway it's a different side now.. im ust saying its what you leave that you are ultimately judged on im not saying bruce isn't doing well, but this bruce is doing better than rafa is short-sighted and foolish
Seems to be a lot of blind ignorance to the team Rafa inherited to the team Bruce inherited. There's a reason I don't rate Bruce but still expected us to finish comfortably this season. Next seasons the acid test for me. Not becoming a Brucie bonus ball gargler yet like. Happy to accept the footballs worse if we're still getting results, guess I'm not the football purist some are on here. Where are they all now by the way? Enjoying Pulis ball?
