That could apply to half the teams in the Premier league Problem is the cost of refreshing your team every year because of inflated fees and player wages
Defensively we are a shambles. We need some proper defenders. If we can defend, then we can build from there. But at the moment, all confidence has drained from the players and we are rudderless.
exactly look at man united last week it was ole out this is a disgrace then one win later and they are licking his arse again and laughing at arsenal this leagues tough everyone will get beat one week and lose the next... the snobbery of this big clubs needs to go imo
Just the defence, though? Brighton won that game in midfield tonight and stopped you from looking threatening. Auba and Lacazette could be one of the most prolific partnerships in the Premier league in the right system and style of play,
Dunno about that Duggie/HIAG Arsenal are a huge club, though. They can afford to go out and spend big, they bring in a lot of revenue and the big players can more or less pay for themselves through revenue generated after a season or 2. The goal for Arsenal has to be to get back to the top 4 and then go from there. I believe that's going to take just more than a change in manager and tactics.
When I say defence, I mean the whole team as a unit. We need to be defending from the front, but yes the midfield are soft as **** and we just give teams acres of space to walk right through us. The defenders aren't good enough either, so when we're up against it, it's just too easy for teams to score against us. We need somebody who can organise these players to defend as a unit, close the spaces, press the ball, link the defence with the midfield and just make us a bit more solid. Offensively we've got the players to hurt teams, but we are so disorganised at the moment that none of the team are linking up and the players just don't look like they know what they should be doing.
I agree with you on this The old first division worked because teams could get promotion and stand a chance of survival and with 24 teams only the dross wit down each year Now with only 20 teams at least one if not two decent teams get sucked down into the Championship
Anyway **** @brb. I've given that **** 2 pages already. He'll be trying to milk this soon. So **** y'all
I’ve said for years that I’d hate to be an Arsenal fan, even when PV4 and TH14 were playing for them.
Was there a fire drill near the end mate, I saw lots of people running for the exits. Hope everyone got out safely
The Everton thread was twice the pages of this, just goes to show how shhite Arsenal really are, everyone has lost interest
And relegation to the old 2nd division wasn’t the disaster it is now. Teams used to win the FA Cup from there quite often, the gulf between the first and second division was nothing to what it is between the PL and Championship.
I wonder if the only fair way forward is capping player wages. It was Jimmy Hill who original fought for the cap to be removed, but I'm sure he never invisaged anything like we see today. Obviously capping wages may not help the lower leagues, but it might help bridge that gap again between the Premiership and the Championship. In my fantasy world it might also bring back some player loyalty, as they wouldn't be following the pound signs, when two clubs are in the same financial perspective.
