That was a poor performance against a bang average United, and Winks and Sissoko in midfield was the reason why. Poor goalkeeping for the first goal and a gifted penalty for the second, we did not deserve to win but could have come away with a draw but for a ridiculous penalty decision (you`ll never see Spurs given a penalty like that). I thought Mourinho got his team selection wrong and tonight we have made Gollum look like a good manager. Also, why bring Eriksen on ahead of others when he is about to leave the club, surely you go with a committed player over a player who can`t wait to get on his bike.

Like you, this is doing my crust in. FFS play Lo Celso! Bringing him on with 5 minutes left is totally pointless (as is playing Eriksen). The guy must be losing confidence every time it happens.

I'd like to see Foyth at right back against the better teams, where 3 in midfield is an absolute must, whilst we're shipping goals for fun. At home against some of the lesser teams, we can afford 4 forwards and only 3 defenders. Tonight it was a terrible decision.

Don’t actually think Eriksen done too badly when he came on. Beat the first man from a corner (yaaaay!) and hit a great ball to Aurier who probably should’ve gone for the cross not shot. He done well against Olympiacos too.

Although I am a bit bemused at the lack of game time Gio gets. It looked like he was starting to establish himself before Poch was sacked but seems to have taken a back seat now Jose’s here.

disgraceful that he said what a lot are thinking.

When Winks went down my first thought was that hopefully that's him out for 6 weeks

I think it's the position, rather than the player. He's not using an attacking midfielder from the start.

In fairness to PNP it was disgraceful from me but I’m at a stage where I’m sick of Winks to the point where I feel him getting injured is better for the team as it means he doesn’t play. It’s ****y, I’ll hold my hands up but I just can’t stand the guy and feel he massively hinders us. He’s not a “Tottenham player” for me.

Winks will never, ever be anything more than bang average. And that’s on a good day!

He’s just not good enough for a team that supposedly aspires to win serious silverware.

I still can not believe Jose paired Winks and Moussa together away at Manchester,
whilst Ndombele, Eriksen and Lo Ceiso are there sitting down on the bench

It’s hard to say because in possession Tanguy is a million times more effective. Would we have still been overrun? Possibly yes. But I’d say our chances of making things happen are greatly increased when Tanguy is on the field and any moments of possession we get can be utilised better by someone like him. If he can’t start, play either Eriksen or Lo Celso, just someone with a forward thinking and creative mentality. Winks-Sissoko never worked last season and it didn’t work today, it never will work in my opinion either.

Ndombele should be playing with AN Other

I’ll be shocked if Jose does not see this sooner rather than later

He did hint about new foreign players needing time to settle when probed about Lo Celso a week back...maybe they really aren’t up to scratch in training yet

However I do believe the best way to get up to speed is to play them...Ndombele has looked great in patches

For me Winks is competing with Dier and Sissoko with Ndombele. But if we had started with Winks and Ndombele we would have no Sissoko to bail out Aurier and thst might have been worse.

Nope... simply disgraceful that spurs fans wish an injury on a spurs player...it's bang out of order.

    Ndombele and Sissoko

Ndombele does everything Winks does but with much more aggression. His attacking mind is also a few levels above. That would free Sissoko up to do what he does best and just shield the defence with the odd foray carrying the ball forward....but really he should leave that to Ndombele because he really is **** when it comes to playing with the ball

Again it’s pretty tough to say. From a defensive standpoint it isn’t great but Tanguy on the field gives us more creativity. We’ve seen the types of through balls he can do on more than one occasion this season already. He’s got that magic spark to make stuff happen even if under the cosh. The front four were starved of service today and that contributes to why Utd were so dominant for the most part, they didn’t have to worry about our ball from midfield, just the ball over the top from Gazza/ Toby.

We were very “easy” for Utd tonight. A bit of brilliance from Dele and a late 5-10 minute surge was all that went for us against a Utd side that is painfully average. This loss is on Jose though, just as it would’ve been if Poch had selected the same pairing in the middle.

But what about removing the injuries of another? My point was equally harsh and yet caring at the same time I’d say <whistle>.

Sadly though, a lot would take up the option, even if many didn’t want to admit it. It is a bad comment, I won’t hide but as I said, many would take the option if it were ever a thing.

Really sorry but where is the criticism of Gazzaniga...?
That was a disgraceful goal to concede...yet it's all about winks.
I have no issue with fair criticism but Winks is the whipping boy of the team.

Criticise by all means but the idea that he was the biggest reason for that result is simply wrong imho (and no I do not think he played well)

I don't think that he's played particularly well since Lloris' injury, to be honest.
It's not like we've got much choice at the moment though, as we've had our 4th and 5th choice keepers on the bench.

It’s increasingly likely we’ll need a new keeper sooner rather than later. I’m not writing Gazza off just yet as I’ve been harping on about him getting a solid run but his shot stopping this season has been nothing like what it was last season. That hasn’t been helped by the defence falling to **** but tonight’s goal should never happen, it’s something Lloris has been guilty of too often over years (near post goals).

We knew his shot stopping wouldn’t be as good as Hugo’s but is it too below Hugo’s standard to make it a genuine hindrance? Both keepers have their pros and cons but if neither can reduce/ improve on their cons then we definitely need a new number one for next season.
