Adebayor never really wanted to leave Arsenal. (which he has subsequently admitted)He was just after more money.

I think its a shame we let him go....as an arsenal fan there's alot of players i can say that about though.

3. The fact that us Spurs fans have taken so quickly to Ade shows the great respect we had and still retain for him. Imagine him and RvP (who I also highly rate) at the head of a 4-4-2! That would be awesome, even with that shambles of a defence that you have!

Ade was a locker room cancer, as was Gallas.
It might be all rosy in the Spurs locker room today but at some point these two will blow up.
Now that 'Arry has told the Tottenham hierarchy how to run a football club and to pay Modric £150k a week I can see a lenghthening queue at Levys door with everyone wanting a payrise because the likes of Ade will not suffer being a middle earner - leopards and spots and all that.....

5. The trouble with Ade is that it can all so easily go to his head. He scored 30 goals for us in the 2008 season but in the following year, that tally fell to 16. He did miss two months because of a hamstring and also missed the last two EPL matches of the season but the edge wasn't there IMHO and he also talked too much, mainly about himself ;)

6. Ade is being paid his full salary by City, with Spurs making a contribution of £70k per week. If Ade asks for a pay-rise, City will undoubtedly tell him to sling his hook. It won't affect us <ok>

7. I think Ade has learned some hard lessons. He doesn't come across as either an arrogant or stupid person to me, so I fully expect he has learned those lessons.

Plus, at Spurs, he will easily be our best striker and one of our best players, and that will appease his undoubted massive ego. I think part of his problem at Arsenal he felt (rightly or wrongly) that he wasn't appreciated enough.

£70k a week ?
How many Spurs players earn that ?
There'll be a mutiny at some point, unless you're Chelsea or Man City where money doesn't matter or Wayne Rooney because you're that good, there'll be problems.
Gareth Bale, valued at around £30m I guess, Chelsea/Man City offer £40m and £200k a week, what does Levy do ?
What's the players reaction ?

9. Shows how crazy it has become with those idiotic, egotistic money men ruining this beautiful game.

The sooner the FA and FIFA step in with ceilings for transfers and wages the better. FFP is almost useless. Just wait and see.

'Adebayor, Adebayoooooor, his dad cleans elephants, his mums a whore'

'Adebayor, Adebayoooooor, he doesn't like bus trips, not any more'

You still stand by that statement?

Okay, okay, okay! It was a pretty insulting song, but if the harden faithful hadn't thought much of Ade they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of thinking up a song for him. So, in a way, it's actually a mark of respect.

12. I don't think the regular players mind at all. If we had bought him, we'd have had to pay him a massive signing-on fee, which probably would have equated to £70k over the course of the contract, so it isn't so big an issue. Also, the players have got to expect that if we get in proven top class players that we've got to pay the wage - they can't have it both ways.

I doubt it will prove to be a problem, especially if Ade keeps knocking in the goals. He scored on his debuts at home and away! That's pretty special, by any standards.

14. I thought he was loved at one stage until he became lazy and big headed.

But really Mr H, you're welcome to have him. It would be interesting to see how long he stays. His record over the first decade of this mileenium has been roughly two years per club. After that, it gets worse. This table from Wiki -

Years Team Apps† (Gls)†

2000–2001 Metz B 10 (3)

2001–2003 Metz 44 (15)

2003–2006 Monaco 79 (18)

2006–2009 Arsenal 105 (46)

2009– Manchester City 34 (15)

2011 → Real Madrid (loan) 14 (5)

2011– Tottenham (loan) 2 (3)

Apologies that the columns do not line up. Actually from the above, his scoring rate while with us was not bad.
