As an arsenal fan i am seriously worried at our lack of points picked up so far, not in terms of where we are in the league because after a few wins we will rocket up the table, but in comparison to the points picked up by man utd and man city as they are 11 and 9 points ahead. At this stage in the season that is unacceptable and we desperately need a win on saturday, then comes our champions league match vs olympiakos and a vital home game away to spurs. It is another very important week and a few wins would help ease the pressure on wenger. But as i could see happening our defense looks shaky although the two own goals were freak own goals as neither song or kolsciney moved their feet and allowed the ball 2 them. Our attacking play did look very good however although i think that we had more than enough chances to win the game and should have had a penalty and yakubu was offside for one of the goals. i thought walcott looked impressive when he came on but i would like to see gervinho stay in the game more, he seems to drift in and out but if he could stay in the game then he will be an exceptional player for us. But i think we will struggle defensively until vermalen returns unless mertesacker can find his feet in the next few weeks.

I don't think so. I'm perfectly happy where we are and with the amount of points we've collected.

Sorry mate, but this is a dumb article. Especially as you haven't added paragraphs.

In the past Arsenal have made up bigger gaps than 11 points with fewer games left to play in a season. That said, I think we have to accept that finishing 1st or 2nd is beyond this current Arsenal team unless both Manchester clubs suffer a chelsea-style mid season collapse. 4th, possibly 3rd, with a cup is probably the best we can hope for this season. Right now, I would happily accept that.

Then again, the Arsenal team that barely edged out Totnum for fourth in 2006 came within 20 minutes of winning the Champions league (they also lost 11 league games!). Football is a strange game and there are still 99 points and three cups still to play for. Chin up!! This season could yet turn around.

  7. You can never give up on your team. Sure, you've looked dreadful at times this season, and the thumping you took against United will have left its scars, but the problems you have in your squad can be fixed. It's not as if you don't have decent players, because you most certainly do.

As fans, you've got to remain optimistic, even if outsiders, such as myself, think that you've got to write-off this season and use it to rebuild for next season. I don't think you'll take as long as LFC to putting everything back together.

Seconded. We've successfully fooled the rest of the world into thinking we're a shadow of our former selves with zero confidence. Oh how silly they'll feel when we turn it on again. I can only assume we'll win the league by 20 points minimum.

Is it an away game against Spurs or a home game?

  11. It's going to take changes that are not characteristic of the manager or management we have at the club my friend

For the past ten years when everyone else has been hitting the refresh button on their backroom staff, Arsene hasn't. If anything he has taken on more than he can chew. I'll accept that he did good with the stadium but now it is high time to concentrate on the football. He is far too distracted and additionally by his own misguided vision. Arsene needs to bring people in who can help him restore the club to it's glory but it seems he wants and has to do it himself. That as we can all see, is impossible. Hence in the midst of all this I don't see much of a turnaround. I don't see CL next year either and that spells trouble for us in the years to come. No, I don't mean the 25m which comes as a result of participation in the CL but that we would look even less attractive to investors, sponsors and players who we would like to target. So indeed, unless we get our act together, we will even find it hard to get into the Europa League.

To Ivan, Stan and Arsene - Thanks a Bunch.

Why does he need paragraphs ? Are you having trouble reading it ? Can your brain only handle tiny pieces of information at any one time ?

Your's is a dumb response and that is a FACT. You might be happy but you are certainly not speaking for many Arsenal fans.

Aaargh FACT FACT FACT. F*cking hate people who use that when it's not the case. Clearly you're not a fan of sarcasm or you'd have picked up on a smidgen or two from rannaramshere... if you think Arsenal fans anywhere are especially happy then you're deluded.

As to the paragraphs, no, they're not essential but they certainly make reading easier on the eye and I winced when I saw that monstrosity.

I second John Jensen. I hate it when people express their opinion as fact.

It is trying on the eyes to read a wall of text on a screen, paragraphs are a useful tool to eliminate this problem. As well as being the correct way to express oneself in a written format when making multiple arguments or points.

You only need to use praragraphs to signify change of topic, change of speaker and so on and so forth. You don't need to use paragraphs because people online can't read more than 2 lines of text in one go FFS !

Secondly, I use the word FACT when it is a blatant FACT .... so, for example, the guy's response was dumb and that, furthermore, was a super FACT !

However, seeing as I have been led to understand that the post was somewhat tongue-in-cheek I will apologise for behaving like I have had a humour bypass .. when it comes to topics like this :)

  20. Before then, you've got Bolton at home and we've got Wigan away. I think our respective fortunes in these two games will set the tone of the derby match. If you take another beating, and we win, I can't see you beating us, and you could well see yourselves bottom of the league in three weeks' time.
