I may have missed this, but I didn't see it posted anywhere:

    That's some header!
Not sure about the celebration though and they did lose.

cavani is really starting to make a very big name for himself. He was awesome last year but many thought maybe it was just a one year thing, but he has scored against City in the Champs league and put 3 past the Serie A champs. Swap for him and Carroll?

Aqua looks very comfortable in the Serie A ( duh I know) but I wish we would have given him a chance. He would have easily started pretty much every game for us so far and would have got a substantial amount of playing time I feel, but for some reason we didn't see him in the plans.

I can't bring myself to watch it cus we'll never see him in the red shirt again. Annoyed with how this has been dealt with. He should have been kept or sold ffs.

He never had his heart in it for Liverpool, even if he played for us we never would have saw anything like this, a header with determination to get to the ball and direct it into the back of the net.

    Yeah, I agree with this.

But it does beg the question - why the **** did he decide to sign for us in the first place?

Dissagree, he was out best player in pre-season even though he probably knew he wasn't in Kenny's plans and a move was on the cards. He really would have been more than useful at the start of the season as Gerrard's replacement, linking up with Suarez.

I second that! <ok> We would have to finish top 4 though if we were to atempt this.

If I hear one more person try and use the way Aquillani played in pre-season as some sort of indicator for why he should be still at Liverpool then I will tear my hair out. Look at the teams we played. Pre-season is nonsense anyway, just glorified training matches. He is a serie A player not a premier league player. He can't deal with being closed down and roughed up. In Italy players get enough time on the ball to play the passes he does, in England that doesn't work, you just end up being wastefull, as he was when he played two seasons back. And he also never wanted to play for us so he wouldnt have cared when in the team. We should have just sold him though instead of loaning him out again.

I disagree - a lot of fans will also use his brief period just before he was loaned out as a key indicator where he often looked comfortable in possession, created chances and scored goals.

And yes - he may have excelled against poor teams during pre-season but I didn't see too many other Liverpool players performing well at the same time?

Aquailani (IMO) is a top class midfielder who would have been our equivalent of Silva or Modric - someone who CAN receive the ball in tight spaces, keep possession flowing and play the killer ball.

I'm surprised you can't see the quality of him - I bet you think players like Spearing are the key to our midfield?

Also - Kenny mentioned that Aqua was a model professional throughout the whole process. Kenny also stated that Aqua wanted regular games and he couldn't guarantee that. This leads me to believe that maybe Aqua was happy to stay as long as he was starting every game but it also shows that he wasn't prepared to FIGHT for his place. However, along with Reina, Agger and Suarez - Aquilani would have been a starter every time.

you might be right on the teams we played, but fact is he was perfoming better than the hendo/adam we kept instead of him. its not like hendo/ adam were not playing in those games which simply mean we have opted for dead wood intead of quality. i know we love kenny but some of his decisions so far leaves you with more questions than answeres. after all he diddnt want to be loaned again and was ready to fight for aplace thats why he ended up tell lfc that if they dont want him its better they just sell him and not to loaned out yr after yr.

He didn't want to be loaned because he didn't want to return. He wanted to be gone for good, rather than having another summer like this one. Unfortunately Italian teams are obsessed with loans and part ownerships, so we may well find that Milan don't want to buy him either.

I'd never heard of Cavani until this morning. An old work mate emailed me commenting on Carroll, and how Suarez must feel with "that carthorse playing alongside him". He said Cavani has got everything, and he's Uruguayan. Is he that good?

Cavani is the type of player we should be bringing to this club - a lot of ability and intelligent. However, without Champions League fooball, it's going to be very difficult - especially concerning players like Cavani who is already playing in the CL with Napoli.

He's pretty damn impressive. He won't leave Napoli though.

Lavezzi is a better player IMO, and a more realistic target.

Also City are already sniffing around meaning a bidding war for a top player, they have money and champs league, easy decision for him.

Lavezzi would be good and I would like Hamsik too, play that AM role and help break teams down and score a fair few goals.

The guy seems to love playing for Napoli and they would not sell unless it was a ridiculous amount. Incredible player though, perhaps the best in Serie A?

You say you disagree with my statement about his heart being in it for Liverpool, yet you go on about his abilities? His heart wasn't in it for us, he wanted to move and he made it clear, plenty of times. He was a good player but if he doesn't want to play for us he shouldn't be wearing the shirt over players who do their very best for us (ala Spearing). I know he probably still would of been solid but at the moment the club is trying to create a solid foundation, whats the point of keeping, say if we did, Torres and Aquilani if they never put in the commitment?

The people who are blaming KK for Aquilani's exit are ridiculous, it wasn't his fault, he could of kept Aquilani against his will but what's the point? Although I may agree with those that perhaps move could of been done by Damien Commolli and KK to sell Aquilani rather than loan him, but again we don't know what happened behind the scenes so we can't comment.

If his heart wasn't in it would he have played so well? We saw how well Torres played when his heart wasn't in it anymore and the difference between the 2 is massive. I don't think I've seen anything from Aqualani himself (Agents don't count) saying he didn't want to be here anymore?

You could also say that when we played Chelsea he bucked his ideas up, when Kenny came in January and the window opened, all the sudden Torres started to try and play again.......then he did one and f***ed off. Aqua could have easily been playing the shopping window card and it worked as Milan came in for him, he just didn't get the permanent deal he wanted.

True. Guess we'll never know if he wanted to stay and played well to try and force himself in to the first team, or if a deal was in progress and he was just showing what he can do to his new team.

Either way, he has my respect for knuckling down and not saying a bad word about Liverpool which he could quite easily have done.

Still think he would have been more than useful in that role just behind the main striker.
