I don't smoke anymore. Haven't since I was bout 20 when I would regularly get stones. If others want to smoke, let em. I'm sure others would be pissed off if someone brought in all sorts of laws and **** on drink. Passive smoking...is it really that bad?

And who's fault is it? That's right, the person who chose to smoke. You'll no doubt harp on about the cost of caring for them...but how much does alcohol cost the NHS?

I imagine looking after smokers is a drop in ocean compared to drink related stuff

I may get cancer. I may not. You may get cancer. You may not.

I voluntarily pay around £5 a day in tax. Ban it? Ok. Get ready to shoulder half of that tax burden.

Smoking is far worse than drinking, the problem with drinking is the fact that most people drink way too much, the media goes on about today's youngsters binge drinking but Britain has always been a heavy drinking country and this is true,I don't actually think that youngsters drink more than 70,80 year old to be honest.People are just stupid...

Really? Just like the many other things that "may" cause cancer. Doesn't change the fact that I may get it and you may get it too.

Correct. You'll see some old bag who's smoked 20 a day for 60 years be free of it, then you get 18 year olds with it.

The main thing that pisses me off is the governmet are quick to damn it, but don't have the backbone to outright ban it because of the money it brings in. Spineless bastards. If it really that damaging they they'd ban it like other illegal stuff

In all honesty it may well do. I just hate the fact that we are inundated with one side of the argument. there should be a proper debate on the subject.
I say this because (and i could be wrong) the chinese are the biggest users of tobacco, yet have low cancer rates

Its like the whole carbon print argument. yes having a 4x4 may well be bad. but they dont tell you that keeping a dog is the equivilant of 2 toyota landcruisers. so a guy with a toyota prius thinks he is helping the environment but has 3 dogs

and dont get me started on the worst of ALL drugs, alcohol

I don't understand the reason why people smoke!
Their bodies just deteriorate every time they smoke.
