Surely it had to go to Brown or Ness? Weir wasn't even the best defender on the pitch. Bougherra, Mulgrew, Wilson and Izaguirre all played better than him.

    Who gave him MOTM?

Kayal looked rhagin when he got hooked for Thammy.

I'd say MOTM was probably Lego or Ledley.

Weirs chronic lack of pace forces the team back and leaves to big a space between midfield and attack and forces us to play the long ball.

I see 606 is awash with Timothy declaring they are barca.

We were ****e today and you still couldn't beat us and arguably we had the better chances.

I do fear the worst now for the season for us.

It'll only get harder for us now and the fixture chaos will mean that our paper thin squad will be stretched to the limit.

I can see why Lennon is a hate figure amongst Rangers fans, he was fist pumping to the West Enclosure after each goal and is basically acting like a fan which isn't the best way to conduct yourself, especially the volatile nature of the derby.

Anyway, as Super Ally said, at least we're still in the cup!

    <cheers>

    Sky gave Weir MotM.

The Tranny played well and would have put you out the cup if it wasn't for McGregors glakit lucky face.

They're taking it a bit far on 606, been on there tonight. Hardly any Gers fans taking the bait though.

Tactically Smith has lost the plot in two Old Firm games now though. Why did you try and defend a lead against ten men? You gave Celtic as much of the ball as they wanted which was an obvious mistake. Celtic had close to 70% second half possession.

In saying that if Davis had finished that effort to make it 2-0 we'd be talking very differently now I think.

Weir has finally hit the wall and about time he got the dunt. Great bloke, great servant, but slow as **** and can't hit a 5 yard pass.

I thought you'd like it. You seem like such a reasonable and well considered person, going by the content of your 14 posts:

All your patter is stolen off other folk. You've never had an original thought in your life. You slimy piece of horse intestine. No kindly **** off please.

Again, you got no thoughts of your own in that waste-ground of a mind?

Ripped-off banter; the type of thing to be expected from the mindless droves of spastic Celtic and Rangers fans who seem to trawl the internet looking for the next hackneyed and imitative phrase that someone far wittier than themselves came up with to parrot back like the vacant goons they are.

Is that the ritual call of the Common Dimwit I hear? This may well be a football forum, but it's a football forum for those looking to discuss football rather than an open invitation for spastics to blankly regurgitate what they've heard others say then pass it off as "debate" or "humour"

I'd far rather be arrogant and pretentious than an obvious half-wit with the verbosity of your average coma patient.

A few suggestions of some like-minded monkeybrains for you:

    1. Under British law race is not designated by skin colour. A football fan in Scotland was charged with racism for calling Craig Bellamy a "Welsh ****"

    2. If a black man said to another black man "**** you, black bastard" and he reported it to the Police that person would be charged with racism.

That article is a cover for weekend bigots and racists to keep getting their jollies. Plenty of other teams manage "banter" without bringing famines, race, or religion into it. The guy spends most of the article going "They're pure bad men too" instead of addressing any issues he's merely making excuses and justifications for racism and hatred.

Don't get me wrong I'm not just blaming Rangers fans here. Celtic fans are EQUALLY as guilty in this pish with all the Provo and IRA songs. I've had a couple of heated discussions with Mick on this subject over the last 18 months.

I have no idea why grown men at a football match can't check all that pish at the door. No amount of self-serving and pandering articles will change my mind on that.

I just hate the way our society has became a big offended place where people look to get offended to score points.

    It's ****e.

He also had some mad rosey outlook on NI before the troubles, everyone used to get along great in that little state until the big bad IRA came and ruined it all. The Troubles were going for 2 years before the IRA shot the first British soldier and the Civil Rights movement had been going on for a full 10 years yet barely a concession had been made. I think you will find single party Unionist rule for 50 years straight was the main reason the state failed <doh>

I agree with that. I use it at times as a WUM mechanism admittedly <ok>

It's far easier to be an offended WUM than be the one doing the offending. Just dredge up a bit of outrage à la your average Guardian reader then let loose.

TBH The Famine Song is just daft. It's not even particularly funny. Old Firm fans are so much more capable of decent banter than that. See "Operation Tango" and the "Seville Beach Balls" for examples of that.
