I am really looking forward to tonight's match in the cup. With the return of HBA and possibly Abeid and Ferguson, we could see some good attacking football. I also hope that Marveaux starts and Ba retains his place up front. Hopefully Tiote will also play as he is just beginning to regain last season's form and playing another game tonight could blow away the last of the remaining summer cobwebs. Rob Elliott makes his debut and although I have only seen him play live once, he really impressed on that occassion.

Although Forest are a better team than their poor start to the season suggests, I have a feeling that our young lads will have too much class, pace and enthusiasm for them, and we could be in for a good night. They have a few first choice players out injured including Dexter Blackstock and George Boateng, but regardless of this I would still expect them to see this game as an opportunity to kickstart their season by claiming a win against Premiership opposition, so the lads will still have to compete physically.

I reckon 0-2 and hopefully a kind draw in the next round.

OK, I'll give it one last go - anyone got a ticket going spare? I'm probably going to buy one over the phone and head down, but it would save a bit of hassle if anyone here's got one.

Really looking forward to seeing the young guns on display!

My team...

------------------------Elliott------------------------

Perch-----------Saylor--------Coloccini-------Ferguson

----------------Gosling--------Abeid------------------

------Marveaux----------HBA-----------Sameobi------

-------------------------Ba--------------------------

I would start HBA and bring him off when he starts feeling the pace a bit. I would also start Saylor and Colo so they can continue there good partnership. The rest of them will provide good attacking football and should make the game a pleasure to watch.

Do you want to win?

I would love to see that team start! Although I imagine Shola and Lovenkrands will start :(

anyone know if there is likely to be streams?

EDIT: My bad, just seen the thread further down :D

I also have a slight feeling that it will be Guthrie and Gosling centre mids and Abeid may start further forward if he is indeed starting as the local media suggest!

I'd like to see Abeid have a start tonight, looked good pre-season. Also like to see Ferguson have a go at LB & Sameobi & Marveaux somwhere in the lineup! Gosling is rated as doubtful so wouldnt expect him to start tonight!

I'm feeling confident about the League Cup this season as it sounds like we're approaching it in the right way. I really hope we don't make sweeping changes, 3 or 4 is plenty with others getting a chance from the bench. Then if we beat Blackburn at the weekend we really will be flying. Next up after that, a dispondent Wolves. Could (should) be a good few games where we can really get our players full of confidence.

It is good that we are picking up points against the likes of Sunderland, Villa, Fulham etc who should be in the same section of the league table as us.
It is important that we do continue to pick up points against these teams and the likes of Blackburn and Wolves because, apart from an out of form Arsenal, we have yet to play any of the big boys, so we need to get points on the board.

Yep, agree there. How many points we pick up against those around and below us will define our season....not how many we get off the top six. That's where we fell down last year. Only one of the top 6 won at SJP (Man City) but far to many lower placed teams such as Blackpool, Blackburn, Stoke etc left with all the points. We look far more solid this year, so a top 10 finish is really on the cards. And hopefully some investment in January....

spurs could our first loss, i predict a home win vs blackburn and a draw against wolves, then a 2-0 loss to spurs, i reckon we will get a prem team in the next round, i reckon man u or arsenal, we always do.

I'm looking forward to my first match of the season, I'm predicting a 2-1 win! I'll prob be heading to The Canal House by the station for a few pints before the match, easily the best pub in Nottingham.
