Once again this is the sort of thing that VAR is supposed to correct. How anyone can look at that and not see a foul is beyond me. And Mertens' armpit was a mile offside.

We can only blame ourselves. Dead balls are rubbish when TAA is not on the pitch. I lost count how many times Salah lost the ball in that first half. There is no creativity in midfield. We are far to slow in the build up. Finally Alison should have saved Mertons shot. Other than the aforementioned I have enjoyed the first half............................not!

This is nothing new and I'm amazed Klopp still does it. A midfield three like this and missing Trent always lacks attacking creativity. Gomez at RB does 'a job' and no more but really doesn't look comfortable there - not good for our defense's confidence or his own. Similar to when we put Milner at LB to give Robbo a break. Lack of proper squad options.
