i used to love Dr feelgood and although they still gig , without Wilko and Lee Brilleaux they dont have the same vibe, but this is as good as it gets, i saw these guys at the Pontardawe arts centre last winter first off the showed the documentary "Oil city confidential" the feelgoods story followed by a gig by Wilko and Norman Watt Roy and Dylan Howe of The Blockheads.....enjoy...http://youtu.be/JtLOe1SiuPQ
.i try to go to at least one gig a week..there are a lot of good pub bands around who play original material ...i went to the Isle of white festival this year...and in October i'm off to Tenerife with a gang of mates ...there are 2 bands out there i love "The dark Wizards" and "Soundchaser" very classic rock/blues/heavtmetal...but the important thing is they are only in their 20's so my kind of music is in good hands..you can check them out on Facebook
My mates are all in bands in Swansea, don't know if you've heard of any of them. Suns of Thunder, Tabularasa, Bomb the Sun have just started jamming again, which is possibly the best music news I've ever heard, they're incredible. TOTSO are good, there are more but I forget the names...

Bongo, try and get to see Brian Breeze. Used to have a band working in and around Swansea called, not surprisingly, The Breeze. Terry Williams (ex Dire Straits) used to drum with Dave Bell on bass guitar. Nowadays Brian performs only occasionally with a soul/blues/rock band (FABULOUS musicians all of them) comprising Brian on lead guitar, drummer, bassist and a keyboard player who doubles up with some brass sometimes at the same time as he's hitting the keys - great to watch and listen to. Put simply, Brian is a hugely talented guitarist. Even if you aren't into the stuff he plays, his sheer brilliance is breath-taking. I've taken loads of people to watch him perform, people who know their music who play as well and the verdict is unanimous. Fabulous. Try him via the Bay View on the Mumbles Road near the Guildhall - they'll tell you when he plays there next. The numbers in the book and the place has a terrific Thai menu if you want to eat. Warning, get there early if you go. When Brian plays the place is packed out. He usually starts at 9pm but 8pm is the latest to get a decent view of the small stage - and, believe me, you want to get a good view of this guy strutting his stuff. All for free and the drinks are reasonable considering the entertainment.
I know Brian well and Terry is a good mate..Terry is retired now but Breezy also does gigs at the Bay view with Dave Cottle , Breezy at his peak was consistently rated as one of THE great guitarists and is always mentioned by the the likes of Clapton, Peter Green and so on. The only reason he never made it on the world stage is that he never wanted to travel outside Wales for any length of time ,he was a self confessed "Home town boy" and was happy with hs lot. one of Swansea's best kept secrets but the world's great loss
forgot to say , as an old Sandfields boy i know The Bay View well...played a few gigs there meself ..in the black and white days of the 70's well before the Thai thing although the thai food is the business....and you dont have to wear a Thai to get in
