This thread is proving more popular than the match thread. Maybe Beddy is on to something here.

It seems we approaching the end of the Literature interest and it's rapidly evolving into a biscuit thread, so can I post this as a compromise? .....

I know he may not be popular (due to being a Tory lol) but Jeffrey Archer's Kane & Abel series and more recently his Clifton Chronicles series were excellent IMO. Also loved his Prisoner of Birth and Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less books

I think his unpopularity was down to him being a first class chocolate starfish.

For those that love Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee by Dee Brown, please look into buying Neither wolves nor dogs by Kent Nerburn. This is a fantastic book with much wisdom from a native american elder. Really really fascinating and sad.

As a tribute to someone who seemed like an all round good guy. I'm genuinely sad at today's news.

JG Ballard, Empire of the Sun, The Drowned World or High Rise. All very different to each other but very good reads....

Back on topic, my homemade choc chip shortbread is the best.
Don't eat them and drive, or attempt complex tasks...
... or simple tasks come to that, but they are great with a cup of tea.

The sequel, Pork Sword, was better.

Explosive ending but unsatisfying overall. That's what my wife said anyway. I haven't read it.
