His daughters death aside, as that should have absolutely no effect on how people judge him as a character and a coach, the way this snake has treated Robert Moreno is terrible.

Moreno came to his house and asked him if he could lead the Spanish side in Euro 2020, which Enrique regards as disloyalty and too ambitious. The fact of the matter is this, Spain have been brilliant under Moreno, the man has stood by him for many years, is clearly an exceptionally talented coach, and Enrique stepped down from the role.

"In June 2019, Luis Enrique quit his post for personal reasons."

At the end of the day, if someone quits, they quit. If Moreno, the man who takes over, has earned the opportunity to take over for the next tournament then that is that. Instead the Spanish have decided to tell Moreno privately he will be kept on, then spoken to Enrique behind his back, as a friend Moreno asks Enrique if he can simple do the Euro tournament, who then immediately sacks him from his previous position and labels him disloyal in the press. What an utter ****.

In other news, if Moreno is after a job, give Ashley a call.

Why, does Moreno fancy a zero hours contract in a grubby warehouse somewhere?

Hard one to be honest, it was always agreed that Enrique would be coming back at some undefined point in the future if he wanted and Moreno agreed to this but it seems like he decided having got the team qualified he wanted to do the Euros next summer which while not unreasonable was not really what was agreed.

Moreno then went and asked Enrique if he could stay on - he said no, then went and asked the Spanish FA if he could stay on - they said no, cried while the door hit him on the arse on the way out having burnt his bridges.

To be honest its poor handling from the top down but I guess having sacked their manager the day before the World Cup started last year it's par for the course for Spain. Enrique should never have been allowed to step down especially in the knowledge he would likely come back and instead have be put on compassionate leave while Moreno shouldn't have been given the Head Coach/Manager role but an interim role or stayed on as the assistant manager just taking charge while Enrique was away mourning the tragic death of his daughter.

    Or the short version - I don't really give a **** about Spain :emoticon-0136-giggl

I dont think Moreno should have been sacked for saying he would like to stay on a bit longer - just tell him no and if he wants to step down if he is not happy so be it. Just handled badly by all.
