Even if we finish bottom this season - which we won’t - not a peep of criticism from me on the big picture. Occasional tactical frustration - yes, but calling for him to quit - no. He is by far our best manager since Curbs. He’s in a different parish to Chris Powell, Parky & the rest. Remember Russell Slade ? Or Guy Luzon ? Or maybe Karel Fraeye ? Look where we are now - fans, players & manager United. A brilliant day out at Wembley. 3,800 Charlton fans travelling to places like Doncaster. Quality signings for nowt like Jonny Williams and Tom Lockyer. Above all, a manager who has instilled pride and passion in Charlton again without resorting to faux emotion like Powell did. If Bowyer walked out of Charlton tomorrow there are at least 50 clubs in England who would want him as their next managerial appointment. Enough said
did anyone watch him on the btsport program mic'd up? he was good on that. shows how much day to day stuff he gets involved in
I make him better than Chris Powell but not a 'different gravy' level … Sir Chris was very very good for us
I've only heard one call for Bowyer to go. That was at the top of the "absolute garbage" thread. Maybe there have been others, elsewhere. LB is leaving anyway at the end of the season, whether Charlton stay up or not. So it's a bit of an academic point. If Charlton are relegated, the irony will be sharpened should Oxford United pass us heading in the other direction. And I did wonder when we would be due the next round of Powell-bashing. Very predictable. There wasn't much 'faux' about 101 points and 30 wins in a season. And SCP wouldn't put up with Roland's b*llocks either - which really is different gravy
There have also been a few numpties slagging Bowyer off on Twitter. plus the Global Moderator (Cardiff branch) on another forum.
Roland tried foisting a lot more garbage on SCP than he has done on LB. Coco the Clown for example. LB wouldn't stand for that either.
